This movement needs to be more tolerant...

I've read the thread, I just didn't know what your implication of education was in the specific post.

Supreme Court is a stupid reason to vote for one of these two unless you have names and reasons against said to be appointed. The reason I say this is because you are dealing in speculation. I'd give the anology of playing black or red on the roulette table.

My logic may bewilder you but Supreme Court justices are appointed for LIFE... im sure you know that but if bad judges are put in even when we win we will have a rough time dealing with that problem. Both candidates gave indications as to what kind of judges they would appoint at the saddleback forum. I dont have to have names... but the indication is that obama will appoint people who "create" laws instead of interpret them.

Frankly 3rd party logic AT THIS POINT IN TIME make very little sense to me. Sure you have made your protest vote... Hmmm now what...

With all the information at hand I would use another anology. This is the pot calling the kettle black.

McCain's not going to shrink government. Have you been missing what he's been saying about the current financial crisis. And at least Obama has admitted that he cannot raise taxes until the economy recovers.

Hell I'd be willing to wager that Obama would more likely to balance the budget than McCain. Too bad it's more than likely a rhetorical statement.

Maybe you have reasons for one sucking less than the other, but I can say I truely understand why you hate name calling, when you bring it on yourself in the manner you have.

And just how do I "bring it on myself" by stating an opinion? This thread was started because STUPID things people in this movement has doe that alienates people... and make it MUCH harder to educate people...

How does voting for McCain educate people on the principles of the C4L?

And you're in Alabama. McCain is polling at 60% there.

I never said voting for mccain educated anyone... I have stated over and over in this thread :

distributing freedom to fascism dvd
face to face "evangelism" talking to friends

generally trying to win people over without offending them if possible...

The ones i have delt with are much more receptive when you don't piss them off first...
I do understand the point about being in Alabama and to be honest that gives me pause... but RP got 8-10%... What if all voted 3rd party (which i doubt) and what if he lost a state he was counting on... and it put obama in... not good

If Obama wins this ....we will have DISASTER...worse than NOW! He is a SOCIALIST! I agree with endthefed. I will vote for McCain/Palin rather than protest vote..and continue to work to change hearts and minds in the GOP. I didn't think Alabama was going to go Obama...nor will Georgia, NC, SC , Tennessee , Arkansas or Florida. Those are red states. Our movement is small...we will continue to grow it over the next 4 years. I want to start a Liberty home school co op..and work with kids on Ron Paul principals . I won't stop working to spread the Liberty message...we really started late this go round. It is going to take a lot of time. TONES

Oh now I see. Pro-life vs Pro-choice.

The silliest of sillies.

Reminds me of a song

The wheels on the bus go round and round.

lets all sing and waste our time as we engage in perpetual motion.

Hey guys I have a great Idea. Lets repeal Roe vs Wade, so in a few years we can have Roe vs Wade 2. Then we can repeal that and have Roe vs Wade 3. and.. you got it

The wheels on the bus go round and round.

Home school with RP values is a GREAT idea... Alabama, for the time being , has GREAT home school laws...

What the HELL are you talking about... Who mentioned ANYTHING about Pro life?

Hmm I did not realize the the Supreme court only made judgements about Pro life issues...

What does Roe v wade really have to do with anything? Ron Paul is pro life isnt' he? yes, I thought so. McCain said on the VIEW...he considered that Roe v Wade should be left TO THE STATES to decide. Is that constitutional? Of course it is. Whether they can actually overturn it...who knows? There are 3 justices holding out from either kicking the bucket or retiring because they do NOT want conservative justices to take over the court. They are waiting for OBAMA to win...so HE can appoint whackadoo liberal justices like that old crone Ginsburg. I do NOT want more of that on the Supreme Court! TONES

You brought up Saddleback. Start citing your sources if I have erred in my assumption.

I watched Saddleback. Besides saying who they would not have nominated that's the only topic that held any weight with regards to a Supreme Court ruling.

But why don't you want certain people on the Supreme Court. Which topics are you affraid of them voting a certain way on. If I remeber at least Obama didn't vote for the Patriot act or the MCA of 2006. I think he'd be better qualified to oppoint people who would protect the constitution.

Come on guys give me something.

Exactly... Just because it was done in a church (i am a christian for full disclosure) doesn't mean you disreguard what they say. The candidates had a forum in which they discussed the supreme court judges.

I am MUCH more interested in not legislating from the bench but interpreting the law.. that is constitutional..

DEAR LORD...if it hadn't been for those CONSERVATIVE justices...your second amendment rights would be in the TOILET! The liberal justices voted AGAINST THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!! TONES

Ok now your going down a valid road. Could you cite a case. And could you prove that the Justices that Obama would nominate would vote against those rights.

And based on John McCains voting record what makes you think he'd nominate a judge that will protect your rights.

That man has voted for more things unconstitutional in the recent past than Obama has probabaly done in his entire life.

I mean I understand the point and I see eveidence to support your ideas, I also see evidence that says things are not always black and white. If your going to vote based 100% on a supreme court decision than you better do more than make blanket statements.

Otherwise I would have to say your voting for the same person. I have no reason even on the Supreme Court level to believe one is better than the other. Not to mention trying to believe that McCain has any principle in respecting the constitution or that he would nominate such would be as worth while in believing in the Spahgetti Monster.

Well I know Palin respects Ron Paul and likes a lot of his points of view (not all obiously) I think she could be very helpful in the future. I have to tell you my mind wasn't made up until Palin was named. I can only base the supreme court stuff on what he has said during this campaign.. not withstanding his previous actions... but at least we have his word with obama we have his word he will pick the other kind of justice...

When Palin was selected it was the decision that made me go form 99.9% sure I wasn't going to vote for McCain to 100%.

If he would have picked someone who had economic insight I may have went the other direction.

Mark my words Palin will be the biggest mistake of your life. And probably be the final straw that convinces my fiance that buying the one way ticket out of America is a viable option.

Tell me why she is a mistake? that seems VERY a baseless claim. She respects Ron Paul and his ideas and his standing up for what he believs in. If the don't get to her I think she can help.

Great! She respects people for standing up for what they believe in. So, elect her and she will, with utter retardation, lead you right into the war with Russia that she promised. It will really mean a lot that you elected someone that stands up for what they believe in when what they believed in causes Russian nukes to kill millions of Americans.

Ron Paul explained why we have terrorism. Must we continue to antagonize the world until they bankrupt and destroy us? It will continue to get worse unless we realize that we need to be humble.

Tolerance is accepting that the country that we live in has no right to boss around other nations in the world.

Lets see. First off one would have to assume I agree with Ron Paul 100%. If you've looked at the Liberty Maven Paul-o-meter, I'd say I'm saftley at 95% with Dr. Pauls stances. The disagreement is on ROe vs Wade. So lets skip that one and go with the other reasons I would not support Palin.

1. Foreign Policy
a. it sucks
b I have more foreign expierience than she does. And that really isn;t saying a whole lot.

2. Personal Rights.
a. supports the war on drugs
b. opposes gays right to be seen as legitimate couple.

3. Current events.
a. Husband is refusing a court supoena. What makes him above the law or her for that matter
b. Supports war with Russia, and following right behind Israel going into Iran.

4. Family Values vs Education
a. Yup that works great. Unmarried pregnant teen in her own house.

5. Science vs Religion
a. Supports creationism and intelligent design being taught in school.
I bet that chapter will have some interesting text. "God did it" Well where is the rest? What's scientific about that?

Now that's from the top of my head should I try and dig up more information.

Maybe how she bends the truth on some of her stances to make it seem like she opposes government spending. Which is a flat out lie. She cuts money from one place gets it from somewhere else. It's kinda funny how everyone overlooks that. For instance she cut local taxes as mayor. But she raised the local sales tax. What's the difference. And doesn't raising sales taxes slow down consumption. Not a good idea.

Enough yet should I go on. This ladies about as much to Ron Paul or the liberty movement as I am to puddle of water.
