RPF Pets!

Hmmm... I own people too. So do you report to Metzger or not? And what the hell kind of name is Carlal for a slave? Mine just have numbers.

<-- is happy to know he isn't the only person to check image URLs in hopes of finding hidden treasure

Found floating a half mile from shore while fishing. At first I thought "man, that otter sure sucks at swimming." Bottlefed him and when he got old enough he returned to the wild on his own.

Here's my pooch, Nico. She was a stray dog in New Orleans, after Katrina and was shipped up to Canada with a bunch of other strays. I have no idea what breed she is, i think she's a mutt, but she's the sweetest, most loving dog i've ever had.

Hey, that's my dog!

This is Duke! See signature....

This Ned, the Libertarian goat who is very protective of his property rights.

Now ImageShack is messing with me so I can't upload anything else.

How is Duke getting along?

He's been doing fine. He has to be confined to a kennel for one month, which he's not enjoying, but he really likes his physical therapy for some reason. He thinks it's a game, which I encourage, as it makes it a whole lot easier on us to help move his legs around.

He's also standing on his own now and wagging his tail a lot, so I think he'll recover just fine!

Does the Siamese show in his personality and/or voice?

I had to go look up a Siamese's personality. :p He doesn't have their loud, obnoxious voice, but he is a talker. He's a real sweetie. Loves to be held upside down like a baby. His body goes completely limp; his back legs just hang there like limp noodles. Then, there are the times that he's NOT so sweet. lol.

He's getting neutered in a week or two, so we'll see what difference that makes, if any, in his personality.

I've always wanted one of these!

How are they to take care of? Are they fun?
When we got him we bought a vivarium kit. Unfortunately the kit came with what I'm calling a death bulb. The UVB has to be just right and apparently the coil bulb it came with had very high levels of low spectrum uvb. Poor guy was having a lot of eye problems until I figured it out and got a new bulb (after really having it out with the manufacturer and the pet store). I also learned the substrate I'm using isn't the greatest but it will be ok until I have to change it.

I really love this guy. I sit next to his tank every morning with my coffee and he comes over and looks at me. I take him out and he'll just chill on my shirt for as long as I want him there. He likes baths which is cool. They don't bite and they're super friendly. He eats right out of my hand.

Oh yeah. Sounds like he's got Siamese or Tonkanese in him to match his looks. They tend to be characters.
