RPF Pets!

This is my new best buddy Flapjack (don't laugh, my sister named him). :D He is of, shall we say, uncertain parentage, but we're pretty sure the base of his genetic cocktail is comprised mainly of Jack Russell Terrier. As to the rest, we're scratching our heads trying to figure it out. He's got long legs and a lean body like a chihuahua, but he tries to "herd" me and the family all over the place by giving us the occasional gentle "nip" at the back of the heel, which is just one trait among many in a general personality set that reminds me quite a bit of Corgis.

When he's not corralling us into the driveway or lovingly stacking all of the household's shoes together in a neat little pile, he makes an incredible lap-dog, and has one of the gentlest, most laid-back, and mellow temperments of any dog I've ever known.

Here's another shot of Flapjack that exhibits another one of his funny quirks; a right ear that almost always stands at at least half-mast, and a left ear that refuses to even be bothered.

Now that's why people don't mess with me ;)
He is a cutie though.

I wouldn't mess with you either. That dog looks like it could rip my throat out if it wanted!

Awesome name too! :D

RIP EJ - One of the first things I had to do as the campaign entered the endgame, is take EJ down to the vet to get put to sleep. He had kidney failure and some kind of cancer. He was 12-13 years old. He was suffering and had to be put to sleep, but it really is 1000x more difficult when he is still active and alert. He will truly be missed.

My crazy guard dog is still patrolling, but it will be a long long time before I am ready for another critter after EJ.

I remember when all that went down, at the worst possible time with RPH just showing up in town to give you a hand.

I recall that it left you pretty broken up.

Tough when a good pet dies. :(

RIP EJ

She was an almost dead at birth kitten, I wiped her off and warmed her up and taught her mother to care for her.
She was with us a long time. Her son Boogie is in my lap as I type this.

I hate having to bury them. done it many times, and will again.
:(
:)
Till it's my turn.

This is what she looked like after she was rescued by a wonderful nonprofit, after being left in a cat carrier for 3 months. She needed water therapy to straighten/strengthen her legs:

Mr. Phinnius (aka Mr bubbers) was a street dog from the hood that nobody would claim either. We hung up signs around where he wandered into our yard for weeks and called all the shelters but just ended up keeping him because the pound has a 48 hour no claim/kill policy. He's now been to both oceans and everywhere in between.
