Official 11.11.11 Planning Thread - 17,000 Pledges - Decentralize Facebook Promotion

How do you target those people? I looked into setting up some ads, but I can't figure out how to target them so specifically.

Under interests I selected things like Ron Paul, Campaign for Liberty, etc and then under Employer/Work I chose USMC, USAF, US Army, and US Navy.

A hundred bucks at $0.67 per click gets us about 150 clicks and hundreds of thousands of impressions. Since last night my ad is at 7 clicks and 30k impressions.

I made a Facebook event encouraging people to make an email pledge and invited all of my friends. It's interesting to see who supports it and who doesn't.

fb profile banner, banner pieces salted with pledge URL, push viewer to pledge object

I am making fb profile banners that reproduce the widget and banner media for this campaign.
They will be -seamless- on a white background. (I only make seamless fb banners).

I will strive to reproduce as exactly as possible the media that is being finalized for this campaign.

I have "Impact Font" which appears to be very close to the font being used.

What's the font?

I will be creating tagging instructions applied to each of the 5 "banner pieces" in a STN_fb_PrfBnnr ALBUM.
Some may choose to download the 5 "banner pieces" and then upload them and function as "banner ALBUM hosts".

Each of the 5 banner pieces when viewed on a profile WALL or INFO page will resolve OnClick to that banner piece within the album.

The description for the banner piece will have the URL to the pledge website. The first comment on each banner piece will push to the pledge URL.

When an album is created, (images uploaded, saved and published), and when an "album piece" or the "album cover" or the ALBUM is SHARED, when a person is "tagged" with any piece in the albm, or the album ... the banner pieces/cover/album then flow into the fb NEWS FEEDS.

People are curious when they see them in News Feed and click into the album. They are then exposed to the 11-11-11 pledge push URL(S)/Event(S)

If you "Album Host" a banner, the "album", and the "album cover" and all the "banner pieces" need to be "salted" with the proper URL(S) to pledge widgets, pledge websites and pledge EVENTS.

This is an FYI, please give constructive criticism for this idea, I'm going to roll this out and would appreciate some feedback.

If you wanna reach that goal, then we need to rally. Internet advertising only goes so far. During rallies, we can pump people up and persuade people to donate that usually wouldn't.

Last bomb we commented on Youtube videos, but I think YouTube tweaked something because it won't let me post a url at all. You have to post "google supportthemnow" or the comment won't post at all.

I honestly don't have any experience organizing rallies, but I'm sure there is someone who could help you out here.

We only have ten days, you don't have time to put together a rally. Anyway, this is an online donation event and we can drum up pledges online if everyone would pitch in and help.

Yes, but I haven't tried making groups, I made an event. Would a group work? Can you invite everyone to a group? And then message the whole group?

Events work pretty well, plus the greasemonkey script helps a lot and I think that only works on events.

All Friends invited, links posted on friends who would be interested, created a facebook event, I'm advertising on Facebook and in the Hawaii Star Advertiser. This weekend my wife and I are going door to door with pocket constitutions, copies of "Restore America Now", and Flyers for Support Them Now. I'd advertise some more but I want to save most of my money for the moneybomb. I'm not rich but I'm givin it all for Ron Paul!

ads in political magazines, newspapers, websites, talk radio.

handout fliers at church? church goers are into politics and very patriotic.

I agree, we need to be hitting facebook up as much as possible. It's one of the few social networking sites that is proven to work and is fertile ground for thousands of news potential donors. But no, we shouldn't just stop with FB we need to hit all avenues possible to maximize our efforts by taking the news of this money bomb. Forums, email lists, websites, advertising with those military banners on pro military sites and it would be good if we had a good one focused on bringing the troops home for the anti-war sites/forums. 3million would be huge! I'm looking at 1.5 to 2 million unless a lot of military folks get involved and max out like a friend of mine did. We really need those guys to get involved.
