Official 11.11.11 Planning Thread - 17,000 Pledges - Decentralize Facebook Promotion

Honestly, to get that kind of money and see how the average donation is down from 07 I'd say we need at the least 30,000 email pledges. And that would be the low end. I know many don't like giving out their email addresses, but based off the formula I remember from last time we really need to hit around 30,000 to 40,000 email pledges. That is unless we can hit up some popular military forums and get those guys to max out which would bring up the average donation. I say we need to advertise those banners on some big military forums/sites so the guys in uniform can see what we got going on. I know my friend in the Air Force maxed out to Ron Paul the last go around, but I don't think he's given anything this time around. This might just be the event that causes that.

I just wanted to make sure everybody knows that I updated the banner on the other thread I made. The one on this website needs to be updated. All I did was change the font. I guess Gage didn't like the font I originally used.

One other thing, we need to figure out this leader board and get it setup. Gage doesn't know how to do it and I can't contact Dusman about using his because his inbox is full. Also, if Dusman or WD-NY is reading this, we need to send out a message using the Black This Out email list.

When I try to share the SupportThemNow page on Facebook, I still get the old graphic in the thumbnail. Is that just me or does it need to be fixed?

The page URL probably needs to be salted (re: cleared in fb's cache)

Just posted this in another thread. Just trying to spread the point.

It's time to start dropping the hammer.

If we can raise at least $1 million for the STN moneybomb, we will be in good shape. Of course, the goal is $4.2 million by the end of November, but this next moneybomb will be a big boost to start off the month.

Now is the time to start reaching out to family and friends who are questioning Ron Paul, especially the veterans. The STN moneybomb is a prime opportunity. Let's get it going!

Hey, the site talks about signing up on the right- but the place to sign up is on the left!!!!

I just tried this to see if it works.

ince we're NOT trying to drive people to a FB event, but we're trying to get them to sign up on www.supportthemnow.com , I created an event and invited all my FB friends to it. I have over 700 friends, most of them Ron Paul supporters. I know some of you have thousands, so how about creating your own event, inviting your friends to sign up AT THE PLEDGE SITE. Then monitor and message when necessary.

This way we aren't dependent on one administrator of an event page and we can message all these people easily because they're friends. When creating the event, be sure and add a message at the bottom of the event creation invitation where it says "add personal message." Tell people to go to the PLEDGE SITE.

Go here https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=128722977233812 for instructions to invite all your friends to an event at once. The comments have instructions and links for installing a greasemonkey script that gives you a "select all" button on your invitation list. It works in Firefox.

I wonder what our chances are of getting a pledge counter that updates?

Decentralized Facebook Events sounds like a really good alternative here. This at least allows for messaging capabilities in most cases and has those people creating them taking on a bit of leadership role to promote them. Good idea.

I envision hundreds of events each messaging their friends the day of the moneybomb. This will work so much better than the one notification the actual event sends out and probably half the facebook users have those blocked anyway.

While I'm thinking of it, when you create your event, have it end after the moneybomb so you can still message everyone the day of the bomb. If you have it end too early, you it goes defunct and you can't use it anymore, although you could always create another event, like a DONATE RIGHT NOW! event, lol. The possibilities....

Is their a limit to messaging capabilities when the event gets too large?

Yes, I think it's 5000? That's why everyone having their own event will work so much better than one event with 20,000 people attending. Once you cross the 5000 threshold, you can't mass message them anymore so all they get is the notification the day of the event.
