I like this guy Greene. He sounds honest
He sounds honest? What drugs are you on right now?

Does anyone remember Bob Conley?
He was a Ron Paul Democrat that snuck in and won the Democratic primary in SC - went on to lose to Lindsey Graham unfortunately.
OK what's going on with the Democratic nomination in South Carolina?
I seriously do think this is just as it seems, that he was a plant to ensure DeMint's win.
I don't think anything went on bad with the voting, and I don't think anything went on much with a campaign either, again just like it seems. I personally think some Republicans found this guy, got him to agree to run for Senate, payed for his filing, and after that didn't do much else except hope he won by some stroke of luck.
I really wouldn't consider this wrong either, maybe not even the whole money issue because I don't think people should have to pay thousands of dollars to be able to run for a political office. It would be somewhat bad still though if there is some illegal stuff going on, and to me it seems like there is. I really doubt DeMint was involved however.
There are some suspensions in logic needed for this. In a year such as this, in SC no less, and this candidate, and with no campaign...yeah, even the GOP isn't stupid enough to waste 10,000$ on this. No one would throw money down on something like this, especially in the mood the country is in now. DeMint is as safe as safe can be.
This guy was so under-the-radar that I don't even accept the "blacks vote for blacks" excuse. Nobody knew this guy, what his skin color was, or how he would sound on TV or radio. If he actually had campaigned, it could have brought his numbers down.
I remember something similar to this happening in a school board race once, where an incumbent lost to someone that filed and never campaigned. It is possible.
Al Greene kind of reminds me of this guy Chaunce Gardner in the movie Being There

If you're going to get behind a homeless person, this is the type of guy I would recruit for state office. Listen to this man Scooter Jolley. He's articulate and of a sound mind:

They were ambush interviews.
"Where did you get the 10,000 dollars?" are ambush questions?
Wow, more insults. What do you know about the guy? Have you ever been on national tv? I bet he was nervous and probably unprepared, yet you insinuate that he is stupid? Why? Because he is a black man?I'm thinking we have a lot of posters here that are hovering around the same intelligence level as Mr. Greene himself.
That is insulting, it presupposes that the man can't happen to have 10k in savings. Or his parent had it to give to him. why would you assume that? If he was a white man would you be asking that question?

Bunch of racist liberals; can't handle it when a black man succeeds despite them.
I never said he was dumb because he's black. You're the one who drew that connection.
I said he was dumb because he can't form a complete sentence to a simple question.
Why do you assume he wouldn't have the money to file for office?
