Trump has stated that he wants to "bomb the s*it out of ISIS." How is that any better than Cruz's position?

Trump has flip-flopped on that. You're right. Originally not long ago he said he wanted to get our troops out of the middle east and let Russia and Syria get rid of Isis. imho that would be optimal. Then he stated he wanted to blow up their oil drilling operations where they are getting their funding or capture these operations and use that money for our soldiers. (I disagree with the latter -- the money should be used to rebuild the countries we destroyed with our interventions.)

I personally don't have as much problem though with spending a month using U.S. troops (no more proxies) destroying the ISIS caliphate in eastern Syria and western Iraq and NO WHERE ELSE. That's it. Give them a month, maybe two months to tame the beasts in the democratic and republican parties who want red meat thrown at them. But that's it. It's not that big of an area in east Syria and western Iraq. And work with the Shias in Iran, Assad's government, Russia, and Hezbollah in Lebanon: these are the true enemies of ISIS. When Cruz and Bush and Rubio and Kasich continue to state to work with the Sunnis you know they are lying: the Sunni nations CREATED isis. They are not going to destroy what they created.

Why is it better than Cruz's position? Because Cruz wants regime change in Iran. That means world war with Russia. Because Cruz stated on day 1 he is tearing apart the iranian nuclear deal. Because Cruz wants to continue to back Sunnis against Shias in these proxy wars. Because Cruz wants to continue the encroachment of Russia, voted for sanctions against Russia, and wants to continue the proxy war in Ukraine via using actual Nazis and Jihadists to fight against the eastern ethnic Russians in the Donbass. Because Cruz wants to continue U.S. military exercises with eastern Europe (ie the Baltic states and Poland). Because Cruz stated ON DAY ONE he is changing the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Cruz wreaks of neocon. He was booed out of a meeting of Christians from Syria :

Compare that to Trump when he said he'll know in 6 months if the Israelis are serious about peace with the Palestinians and a 2 state solution. He basically told Netanyahu to go to hell and that he doesn't need Netanyahu's money.

These neocons are my enemy because they've infected the entire U.S. government in both parties. I personally see Cruz just as toxic as Rubio in that respect.

As far as civil liberties, Cruz flip-flopped on NSA spying. But I do agree with you that both Cruz and Trump are about the same on civil liberties and that bothers me a great deal. Both of their statements about Edward Snowden are upsetting. HOWEVER, the biggest threat to our civil liberties imho comes from unending war. And there's a slight chance Trump wants to end this stuff, and that means we'll finally get a pause to fight the current mess we've been handed regarding civil liberties because of these wars.

My gut says our shadow government wants one-world government, globalization, end of U.S. sovereignty. That's the final step for them. And I see Cruz as the biggest cheerleader for the globalists (he even voted for the TPA for the TPP trade agreement which Trump is vehemently opposed to). Cruz wants globalization that's why that snake put that amendment in the Gang of 8's bill to allow legalization for all of the U.S.'s undocumented. That's why he wanted to increase H1b visas by 500% as well as Green Cards by huge numbers.

Trump is a nationalist. He's opposed to the Cruz globalization neocon agenda. He may be bad on civil liberties, but if he ends these wars the unending destruction of our liberties will at least finally come to an end and we can fight back on the mess we've got as a result of these wars.

If someone can convince Judge Napolitano to run in 2020, we would have a worthwhile candidate that could run a serious campaign. Otherwise, it's hard to ever see myself voting again, last vote I cast was for Ron Paul and that's hard to follow up on.

I am reposting this from another thread, Cruz supporters need to rethink their new guy

A woman who was a Mike Huckabee supporter has stepped forward and said that at her caucus the speaker for Cruz told everybody that Carson was out and don't waste your vote, vote for "somebody" else. This was replicated across the state. That is a very dirty trick. And a ex-cia guy who supports Cruz was involved as well.
I really wish Ron Paul would step out of the shadows with his son hold a joint news conference and disavow this guy.
If indeed that many Ron Paul people have gone over to him, only Ron Paul himself might be able to bring them away from him.

I'm not supporting anyone else. I can always write-in Rand's name. Other than that, I'm not voting for anyone for POTUS.

Anyone on other candidate forums? I suppose if we all show up talking about liberty thinking, we might be persuasive enough to make a candidate look at us seriously.

I don't think any other Presidential candidate is worth supporting. The only ones who are different enough to be worth the effort are at much lower levels.

It doesn't have the glory of the fantasy one shot save the world Presidency, but it gets returns on investment.

I'll live with social conservatism and warmongering to get more free markets. Don't get me wrong, it isn't ideal, but it is the best case scenario for me at this point.
That's right, you'll live, but foreigners will die. Foreigners shouldn't have to be killed by us because of our misguided foreign policy.

Bernie Sanders, in my opinion, is the worst major party candidate to have run in my lifetime. That should put how important capitalism is to me in perspective.
He'll kill less foreigners than any of the other mainstream candidates. I'd vote for him just for that reason--if mainstream candidates were the only choice.

Any reason you won't vote for Johnson, Idiom? Just curious. If Johnson gets 5% in the general, the LP qualifies for major federal funding in the following election. 5% could possibly be attainable. It's a goal, at least.
