South Carolina Election Returns - 19:00ET (1/21/12) - Official Thread

Well this is just depressing. I'm going to head off to bed if the situation hasn't improved with 10% reporting.

Ron's recent 19% polling is not being reflected in these very early results..

guys don't get too discouraged, this was what we were expecting in SC. the more important matter is the states here after.

Think about it people, these early returns are apparently going to have an 8% swing at the top, giving Newt the win, because right now Mittens is winning.

It is not out of the realm for the Santorum, Paul vote to get real close.

That's a risk I'm willing to take with the alternative being Romney being crowned after 4 primaries.

If they crowned Romney after 4 primaries, Newt and Santorum would exit, then EVERYONE would be pissed at Paul for not dropping out, saying things about "Romney really needs to focus on Obama now, instead he's dealing with this un-electable Paul" and everyone would hate us. Better Romney doesn't win and this gets dragged out.

Just be ready for a third party Ron Paul campaign. The GOP establishment won't budge.

It's over folks, it's over.

This means the southern states are pretty much hopeless. They basically are the same culturally.

How come we only have 1% reporting when the polls have been closed for 35 minutes?

As I understand, most of the states with a lot of electoral votes haven't voted yet (like AZ). Don't be too depressed yet.
