I don't know. John McCain is pretty nasty, too although Newt is a bit worse. Maybe they're trying to outdo themselves this election? We didn't turn out to vote for McCain so maybe their rationale is that they need someone even more warmongering, corrupt and vulgar?

No we don't. We have a long term strategy that does not hinge upon the first three states. 3rd would be great, 4th we are still in, it doesn't matter.

It'll be highly convenient for Santorum to drop out and have a 3-way race. Beating him in SC makes it more likely.

I really can't stand "conservatives". No matter how much bitching and harping on principles they do, they are Republicans at the end of the day. Conservatives hate "The Media" - outside of their beloved Fox News, who would never betray them - so much, that they will support the first candidate who attacks The Media in debates and challenges their premises. And when a candidate does this they clap like seals.

They don't care about beating Obama, they care about Proving The Media Wrong™ no matter how shitty the candidate is. They showed this with Sarah Palin and now it's Newt.

Yep. You see, these are the dumb conservatives, mostly neocons under the guise of being "conservative."

All of the true conservatives I know have shown nothing but support and/or have endorsed Paul (some reluctantly, but they acknowledged the others were crooks).

It's the sad fact that Fox News has trained these minds into voting Republican first, instead of principle first.

You know what's going to happen if Gingrich wins, right? The media is going to talk about a two man race! I know it's unfair! Romney will challenge Gingrich to a 1 on 1 debate... Everyone will pump up a "Gingrich or Romney" race. They will try to polarise republicans between those two.

That's not fair you say? I agree, but media is not fair... They want Ron to get as few delegates as possible.. This is how they can do that!

And? The media is never going to recognize Ron Paul or the movement, they are not coming to our aid, they will never be fair and they will always push some other narrative. It is our job to screw up their narrative.

I think King created a monster by not standing up to Newt. He could have smacked him down but backed off and made Newt look strong. Newt is a fraud. He said his two daughters would stand up for him, forgetting to mention that the two daughters came from his first marriage and have always hated the woman. Not to mention there are many many quotes where he lambasted Clinton over the whole Monica affair.
