Whether it changes the percentage Ron Paul gets or not. Diebold needs to be eliminated as we can all see. These electronic counting machines can not be trusted to accurately count votes.
You are talking about votes I could count on my hands. Any time you count something more than once with human error intertwined you will get different numbers.
Marking ballots with ink pens DOES introduce a human element, and optical recognition is not going to be 100% accurate in that regard.
I thought we were smarter than this.
What are you talking about!!! America doesn't even meet the international election standards WE impose on OTHER COUNTRIES.. Do you remember the vote fraud in Ohio in 2004? Or the 2000 election?
Personally I feel that only property owners should vote, so no I don't believe in one person one vote. If you don't have an investment in the country than you should remain a surf.
I don't think there was voter fraud in 2000 or 2004. I think there were loser that cried foul. There will alway be cry babies.
Computer Programmer testifies that Tom Feeney (Speaker of the Houe of Florida at the time, currently US Representative representing MY district ) tried to pay him to rig election vote counts.
I rent my house, so therefore I am a surf!!!!? My family owns land but I do not. I am a college educated engineer and have researched this election more than 95% of the land owning general voting public. So I should not be allowed to vote!?
I disagree, for obvious reasons.
I think the votes are being counted accurately when the voter follows directions. If the voter fails to complete the ballot as instructed the vote shouldn't count because it then requires a human to determine the intent of the voter. For example a bubble halfway filled in. The machine may not count it because it wasn't completed properly. You do a hand count and the human then gets to decide if a half filled in bubble means the person intended to vote for that person or if the person changed their mind and decided not to vote for the candidate. There is no perfect system but we are damn near it in America when compared to other places.
Sorry, I forgot to say..
Why can't we get two receipts with a (somewhat) random number on it and later be able to go check it on a public (Sec of State) web site. Drop one receipt in the ballot box for later confirmation and hand recounts.
You go look up the number on a list, see if your vote matches, if not you report it etc...
Everyone can take the data and make totals. Even make it a XML file so it's easy to check.
Now you can use Open Source software on the machines because everyone can check the results at the polls and at the end.

welcome to wrongville, population YOU!![]()
I have to leave this thread because the stupidity is not tolerable.
i don't care what any of you say, this recount is worth doing. these elections shouldn't be vague approximations of the totals. every vote should count and be counted accurately.
I live in Hillsborough County, Ward 5, and I know I voted for Paul, and I brought someone with me who said she was voting for Paul. so that's 2 out of the 3 votes in the Ward? There's a house down the street that has 2 huge Ron Paul signs out front. We're the only ones in our Ward who voted for him? It's possible, but I'll be going over there and asking him if he brought anyone to the polls with him.
