Roomsharing in Tampa?

kinda runnin low on time here but we should have a ride/room share & tampa events section here

I have comfortable room for 8-10 single people at my house, or 6-8 couples. (Think 2 people on a double air mattress, and that is much of the difference)

I'm located near Paul Festival. (probably within 10 miles, and not through any event zone bullshit.) I'm going to the USF Paul speech. I can only fit 3 other people in my car at the most, and I will not be going anywhere near the RNC - at any time. So I can provide a place to crash, but I won't be a taxi for anything. I'll probably pick and choose when I'll be at Paul Fest. But there are a lot of people I want to see there, so until I see times, I won't know when I'll be there.

So I have some open spots at my house. It's getting late to make plans. I may want potential roomies to credential themselves to me in some manner. I can do the same, no problem. I have a preference for delegates or those riding with delegates. 2nd preference for known activists or people who can be vouched for by known activists. Don't get offended if I ask who you are.

I have a king memory foam pad, 2 twin trundle beds, one double pull out couch, 2 double air mattresses already here. Those things will be on a first arrival basis.

PM me if you think you or someone you know fits these categories. I have a pool, and a reasonable sized yard. I also have a 5 year old little girl who will be giving up her trundle bed to sleep in my room. I will welcome you like family. However, I'm not your mom, don't care how late you stay up, what you do, etc, but I have neighbors to respect - and disrespect of myself or my property will likely result in your removal faster than you can apologize. I know that is very unlikely with this crowd... I'm just putting that out there up front.

If you can hack that or know someone that can and needs a place, PM me.

I'm looking for a place to stay - 24/m here.

How are you all traveling around? Most hotels are not within walking distance of the fairgrounds, and especially not within walking distance to the sun dome for Sunday.

Looking for a ride/room situation since the person I was going with bailed :( 20s/F here. If you know anyone coming down the East Coast let me know.

I'll have to check with my travelling companion but we may be able to transport for certain things... the car's in her name, but when we discussed our initial plans she did mention airport shuttles, etc...

There is always couchsurfing if supporter space fills:

Ingrid, last I looked, flights from BWI to various airports in FL ranged from $120-$240 round trip.

Long time - no post... how have you been?

Couchsurfing is a decent alternative, but I think it's too late for me unfortunately to start on that now. I'm about to book the flight and I just need something more certain right now. My friend and I are both 24 btw to anyone who has space. The thing that I'm wondering about is that the Sun Dome, Airport, and Fairgrounds are all 5 miles apart from each other. I guess the bus system may be the only option. Renting a car is too expensive.

We plan on going to the Sun Dome event Sunday and then the after party after which is just west of the airport, 17 miles away... :( Tampa transportation sucks.

EDIT: I am 24/m and looking for a place to stay Friday night - Sunday night. I arrive late Friday into Tampa at 10pm and will be leaving Monday at 5:30pm. Any lodging/transportation ideas?

My friend backed out so can I be apart of your group?

Well, I'm sure there's a Louisiana delegate who will not be attending the convention after what happened yesterday. Maybe they can lend your friend their hotel room they will no longer be needing thanks to a "deal".
