An airplane has reportedly crashed at Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, DC, grounding all takeoffs and landings.

Update 10:08 p.m. ET: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a statement indicating that a PSA Airlines regional jet, “operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines,” “collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach” to Reagan Airport. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate.

Fox caller quoting a military and commercial pilot who guarantees (based on his experience) that the helicopter pilot was looking at the wrong plane when they were supposed to have visual on the jet. Basically helicopter pilot assumed they were OK because they could see the (wrong) plane.

One would think that the Air Traffic controller should have seen the impending collision coming.

I almost think it was intentional, crazy as it is to say that. Regardless of instruments or whether he was even in the wrong place, there's no way the chopper pilot couldn't see those landing lights off his left.

Russia State website was first that I know of to list victims (last night)

Taas

But absolutely Agree, about knowing all victims
