Ron "Trumps" the Huckster, again! (will skip Huckabee Forum)

For those saying it's not a good move...why? He will be in Washington instead on caucus day. We need him in Washington not on Fox News where they will try to corner him. It's a wise move by the campaign. If it were up to me he wouldn't be on Fox News again unless it's with Neil C.

Couple, simple reasons. He skipped the last one because he was campaigning in Maine, we still lost... He reached out to how many in Maine that day compared to how many who watched the Forum?

This forum will have more viewers than people voting in Washington. It's Fox News and it has a lot of registered Republicans who watch. That's Republicans across the country and not just one state.

And the first forum was pretty fair, if I remember correctly. I think there was one dumb question about 9/11 for his first question, but it got better after that.

So, those are my reasons. Now, if we win Washington, great. I'll come back and say "well, it's a good thing he skipped that forum, after all."

Actually, the first forum he skipped that was held in South Carolina was so he could be in Nevada...yes, Nevada.

I'm confused... Ok, this will be the third Huckabee Forum. He made the first one, and skipped the second to campaign in Nevada... I was thinking Maine, but, that's beyond the point. We still lost Nevada.

i'll just say bad timing this time around.
i would have liked to see him attend that forum, the last one wasnt bad.
but probably he would make better use of his time in WA.
we NEED to win this.

totally agree. by not attending these things, we give them more reason to marginalize Dr.Paul.
the last forum with Huckabee was quite ok, but O'Reilly is a different creature.

RP and the campaign are to blame for him not being on O'Reilly. I do not like O'Reilly, but I do not believe RP should ignore such a major show either. The campaign has utterly failed in the media department, while spending millions on attack ads.
Go on O'Reilly, GO to the Huckabee forum, and just be prepared for the stupid questions by ignoring them and delivering your own message. Pull a Romney, "That's a very interesting question, but here we are $15 Trillion in debt, millions out of work, and a President that takes vacations while tax payers have to foot the bills. There are more important questions you should be asking." Pull a Newt, get them to focus on the Federal Reserve, RP's budget plan, RP mentioning he gets more money from troops....etc. On Iran, "I don't want them to have a nuke, I have said it before. When elected President though, I am not King either, and I will take my oath very seriously. If Congress sees a threat to the United States, it will be dealt with through proper channels...see Article I Section 8 of the Constitution."

o'reilly is a douche+dirtbag who would pave over ron's opinions in a rather nasty and uncivil manner... he frequently disrupts guests loudly when they don't share his opinions too well... and we know how much of a loud warmongering neocon he is..

also, isn't the reason he won't go to hannity because of sean's obnoxious obsession with bringing up the newsletters? given ron could do what he did to john king about them and tell him he is virtually beating a dead horse to a pulp, but i'm not sure if he would do that.

Yea unfortunately, it's NOT the best thing for Ron to go on O'Reilly because Ron just doesn't have it in him to talk over O'Reilly, and O'Reilly would just mow right over him and leave him looking stupid to the audience because Ron has too much class. It will probably be like seeing Ron on Hannity -- very uncomfortable.

I don't disagree with you about O'Reilly, but I think those type of interviews can be used AGAINST O'Reilly in ads:

Not only that, but it gets RP's face/name in front of a million or so people, and if he simply learned to ignore stupid questions, and redirect them to REAL issues...he would do okay. O'Reilly can yell/say "Answer the question" and RP can reply, "Read the Constitution." O'Reilly, "Answer the question!" RP, "Article I Section 8...cut $1 trillion without cutting Social Security. I get the most support from the troops."

The point is to get some truth out, and show O'Reilly for the lameness he is in bringing up non-topics.

Yeah, I'm not certain if I get it. Will Paul be doing retail politics in Washington instead? Will he be on another network at the same time?
He's gonna quit Congress when he is finished with this run ... It's time to stop supporting an individual, and focus on a message.

The message of slavery, perhaps ?

from what I've read on here, which sound plausible, is that its now just a movement. I still never give up, until the clock hits 0:00 .
I'm biased, and still upset over his quiting in 08 ... I expect to see a repeat :(

O'Reilly is the guy who like to say he wouldn't run for office because he has more power sitting right where he is. And he's right. Which is dangerous because he's a bad, bad dude who would totally make him look like a fool. Same with the others in the "We ask, you decide" crowd.

There are other ways to find the ears of millions.

I think it's a snub. FOX goes out of its way to try to ruin Paul when he is actively running for the Republican nom.

I think Paul realizes that his being on Fox does more for their ratings then it does help his.

RP at the end of the day is a well studied and well meaning intellectual, Physician and Statesman. FOX is entertainment garbage and they treat him like dirt.

If he has had enough of it from them, I fully understand.
If he wanted to win, he'd not be concerned with the rating FOX might receive ... Think about it !!

If he is concerned about boosting their rating, he's way off track, and using a bias to defeat himself.

My mom thought he was a weak idiot, and then she watched a CNN show that spent an entire hour interviewing him ... That had her saying he is right, but still won't win because he stll appears weak and unable to effectively debate Obama.
If she hears he dodged FOX, she'll go right back to looking for someone to beat Obama, and toss any principles she might have out the door.

IMO, he needs to win something, or a brokered convention will bring forth cries of a stolen election process ... Just like the Bush/Kerry thing of years past.

He needs exposure, and this ain't gonna give him exposure ... Guaranteed, FOX will exploit this.

And stuff like this is eaxctly why my mom probably won't vote for Ron :(
She hates Obama, and will do anything (short of violence) to remove him from office.

She got real mad when I suggested she vote for Hitler ... LOL

Um, what am I missing???? The WA caucus is at 10am. This Huckapalooza thing is at 8pm. What good is staying in WA all day going to do???
This seems like a HORRIBLE misstep by the campaign IMHO. Having the 3 other guys minus Ron during a national broadcast looks terrible...like he really did drop out or something.

Just the absence of Ron at the debate would have the other candidates looking stupid.
I thinks its a good move. I can imagine being able to hear a pin drop at the debate.

In case people haven't realized it yet the people who would watch the Huckabee forum are not the type of people who would vote for Ron Paul (the vast majority anyway).
