Ron "Trumps" the Huckster, again! (will skip Huckabee Forum)

In case people haven't realized it yet the people who would watch the Huckabee forum are not the type of people who would vote for Ron Paul (the vast majority anyway).

There might not be another debate anytime soon... and this forum might give Ron another chance to speak to the nation. Probably worth it to convert SOME of that "majority" republicans... because we cannot win without them. The democrats is trying to vote for Santorum now, so we can't be too sure if we can trust the democrats to do the right thing and cross over to vote for Ron. So if we cant get the "majority" republicans and cant get the democrats for their votes XD... who can we get for support?

*sigh*

I'm not seeing the fight from Ron. He needs to appear at things. He needs to ask people for their vote. He needs to run for President instead of propel a movement further.

rand... ...? .......?

as in maybe say

2016 or 2020?

like we know

rand ...runs

I think if we could get out the "Ron would rather meet people then be on TV" meme we could get some attention from it.

It might have been mention ed here already:

Peter Schiff was asked to be on the panel and ask questions! He didnt wanna be a trojan horse though so he told the producers "you know im a public Ron Paul supporter, right?" They didnt know it, but said it was ok. Peter wanted them to run in through with the other candidates though. They all said no cause "Ron paul isnt there". Thats so strange since that would guarantee he would me more fair. Peter then said it would be great if Ron did agree to come on, cause then the others wouldnt be able to say anything.

I believe there is something else going on we are not aware of. Ron and the campaign aren't running to win. It feels like they are there advancing a movement. I still think Romney and Paul have some sort of deal. I'm just not sure what that is yet.

Terrible move. So what if the WA caucuses are that day. You have staff that takes care of the caucus, that's what we give him money for. None of the other candidates have this pressing need to be on the ground in WA that day.

There are 10 states voting on Tuesday. One would assume that people from these 10 states would tune into this forum. They will see the other three candidates there, and will not see Paul. The assumption that will likely be made: "Paul is no longer in the race". There are 437 delegates at stake on Super Tuesday, and it appears that the campaign is only focused on the 43 that Washington could deliver. And if the latest WA polls are any indication, he won't win the beauty contest, therefore any delegate accumulation will go unnoticed by the general public.

The campaign website does a good job at releasing stories on the issues and the other candidates. For the life of me, why doesn't Ron use such in his speeches? We aren't getting any news coverage. To get back in the news, Ron needs to attack in his speeches as his website does. For an example, the website has Santorum being accused of helping the the housing crisis. Yet, I haven't heard Ron use this attack. Or any others for that matter.

You attack. Make news. Get coverage.

I also would like to see Ron do a 5 minute video several times a week addressing his supporters. This can be done while traveling.

One would assume no such thing. I'm not sure many people tune into the Huckster anymore.

The more likely (and logical) assumption to be made is that Ron decided working on the ground is more important than another televised pissing contest. Twenty debates? Seriously? I'm pretty sure the GOP has overestimated the interest level and attention span of the TV viewing public. Personally, If I ever see Rick Santorum's angry little face again, It will be too soon.

I like the "Ron Doesn't Even Play Golf" message here. "You sissies go ahead and have martinis with the Huckster, I've got a Federal Reserve Chairman to slap around."

I think the campaign just might have made a wise decision for two reasons;

1) By not attending an impromptu debate organized by a "hostile" host Ron may have very well garnered more press.
2) Keeping appointments wherever they may be instead of whoring for Fox-media watchers speaks volumes of Ron's character.

Come on guys. He can't be two places at one time. They won't let him participate unless he attends. Doug wants him in Washington, obviously. No one is going to be happy with every campaign decision, nor will we ever know if not going to this thing hurts or helps. We can speculate all we want, but the bottom line is it is out of our control. Let's practice a little acceptance and trust that what is intended to happen will. I'm sure there will be many future posts about how blowing off Huck cost Ron X, Y and/or Z. There will probably be an equal number about how campaigning in WA instead gained Ron X, Y and/or Z. There are SO many factors at work here. No one will ever know the impact, so save the energy. My two cents.

Why should the campaign grace a jerk like Huck with Ron's presence? Why do so at the expense of campaigning elsewhere?

Because he is not campaigning elsewhere. WA votes at 10AM PST. There is no event scheduled on the campaign calendar that day. I am guessing that he is doing a post caucus supporter rally.

As I see this, it is a bad decision on the part of the campaign. I will retract that if he wins WA and that translates into wins on Super Tuesday. Otherwise, I will stand firm on my opinion.

If you like Ron because he's fighting the status quo,
you shouldn't have to wonder why he's not playing their game.
I hope he never does any of their shows.

What's Ron's schedule after Washington? Could it be the case that he will take the plane to Alaska and doesn't want to fly across the entire nation back and forth?

According to the website he is in WA on the 2nd and ID on the 5th. Nothing else is scheduled.

Um. So nothing scheduled for either Sunday or the Monday before super Tuesday? Really?

He is in ID on Monday. Going back to last month it looks like the only Super Tuesday states he has visited were OK and VA (1 time each), and a bunch of times in ID. I don't see anything for GA, OH, TN, MA, ND, AK, or VT. Feel free to correct this if it is inaccurate.

Just for comparison sake: Santorum's schedule for 2/29-3/2 has him in TN, GA, WA & OH. Newt is spending all his time in GA. Romney's site doesn't have a calendar, you have to go to each states page to find out events.

Politico.com has a calendar. I can't believe Ron has only been to 3 super Tuesday states. What's the big deal about Idaho? And only once to VA?

Say what you will about santorum, but the man campaigns like a madmen and he's changing up what he says each day to keep the press writing stories. He's also delivering formal speeches.
