Ron "Trumps" the Huckster, again! (will skip Huckabee Forum)

I've said it before, and now again: Paul is better off not rewarding FOX news with his presence on shows or with hosts who have sabotaged him time and again (Hannity during interviews, Huckabee when he's not interviewing him). They should be made to feel pain, for continually marginalizing him and liberty issues. They should not be rewarded with more ratings for having him on forums that will not sway the outcome of a primary (the impact of a FOX cable appearance is negligible, compared to the exposure of a broadcast interview on Face the Nation, which he attends tomorrow). The FOX audience is mainly a lost cause, the emphasis should have been on the broadcast networks all along.

"Ron Paul spoke at the caucus in Puyallup"

There we go, see? I told you he was busy doing something to win Washington today.

That was my position all along, too... While those 3 goons were tripping over each other to lick Huckster's boot in Ohio, Ron was mingling with the voters in Washington and trying to WIN.

Well, this is just like the 1st Huck forum... really well done imo. 100% focused on real issues and every candidate gets equal time. The format is basically "mini town hall"... no rushed questions, plenty of time to answer... Ron shines in this sort of setting.

Ron deciding not to attend is a real real shame.

To everyone who said that Washington made it worth skipping... sorry but no.

#FAIL

If the idea of vote getting is the strategy of the campaign then the decision not to go to the huck forums WAS a mistake as proved by the Washington results.

Well, it looks like 2 of the Ohio residents on Huck's "voter panel" have lost sons in the War. Yeah, that's not in Ron's wheelhouse or anything.

The fact that Ron isn't answering all of the really awesome questions is nothing short of a tragedy.

Well, we didn't win Washington, so, as stated before, the Huck forum, which could have reached out to many more people than Paul reached out to in WA today, is an opportunity lost.

It also doesn't look good to those who watched this, it may appear to some that Ron is simply snubbing Huckabee, which I have no problem with...

Intrade has had our best odds with ND then Alaska and 3rd would have been Washington although in the past Maine would have been #1 at one point in time.

And wow, the "small business owner" is majorly ANTI-FEDERAL RESERVE... again, Ron Paul's wheelhouse.

Meanwhile, Santorum is owning the "no bailouts", "strict free market" and "fed = bad" talking points.

AWESOMESAUCE!

Is anyone watching this? These questions from the Ohio residents are seriously legit. All JOBS focused.

How many watched the 1st Huck forum? I feel like the audience for this one is going to be huge. Saturday night, not much going on.

Now a social security question for Santorum... "you said you were going to cut social security".. hmmm, Ron is the only candidate with a plan to save social security.

Anyone think that Ron skipped this forum because he knew it would require him to actually dive into specifics during his answers (instead of ethereal platitudes)

Then vote for santorum or run yourself if you don't like the way Paul is managing his campaign.

Grassroots is for supporters to help spread the message and get new supporters/voters with our own devices and money.

Grassroots is not about running the official campaign.

You really need to take this stuff to the Campaign suggestions forum or the vent forum. What else do you think you are doing in this thread other then being destructive towards Paul and promoting santorum?

Maybe go take a run around the block and cool down.

Right or wrong you may be, we have no control over Paul. We are here to get active with what we do have control over and to SUPPORT Paul, not tear him down.

we're trying to win a Republican primary. Republicans watch Fox News religiously. Paul has to be on Fox News as much as possible!

The reason the campaign isn't making any changes is because the "cheerleaders" are louder than the "realists/pragmatists". If you think being positive helps Ron more than being negative, I'd ask you to look no further than Dr. Paul himself who has spent 30+ years "being negative" by pointing out everything that's wrong with our country according to the hyper-positive whitewashers in Washington DC.

"Cheerleaders" are distorting the feedback coming out of the grassroots... which allows the campaign to continue doing the same things and think that their supporters are a-ok with it. To me, the cheerleaders remind me of Bernanke and Barney Frank saying "everything is fine in the housing market" just before the crash.

So no, I think grassroots central is the right place for "negative" or "critical" posts... without us, this place becomes the stock market after they made shorting stocks illegal.

re: "we have no control over Paul" - I don't think Ron would agree with this statement. He's responded to our "frustrations" before and modified his behavior. But that's only happened when "constructive critics" have been able to overwhelm the comments on the DailyPaul. If you noticed though, DailyPaul has become more and more a land of milk and honey...

The answer to failure isn't "everything is fine... stay the course... just remain positive"... it's "why did we fail and what can we do to improve our chances in the next state?".
