Ron "Trumps" the Huckster, again! (will skip Huckabee Forum)

huckabee comes off as an arrogant little man... good for ron that he declined the invitation, focus on WA... we need a win!

I'm glad he is staying in WA, much more important, however, you think they could set him up on satellite. Huckabee is full of himself though, he thinks he is important and holy. Nope, just another Republican pawn.

I'm fine with him not attending...as long as he's living in Washington campaigning....I get the feeling that won't be the case though...

I love watching everyone dance around but no matter how you slice it this is a bad move for someone trying to win the Presidency.

It's the sign of a man who has resigned himself to leading a movement and hoping he can cause hell with his delegates in Tampa.

And what that movement needs more than anything is a win, so he's focusing on that win in Washington. To me, a person running for President would try to appeal to as many people as possible because in the long-run that would help your chances.

I applaud the effort to get a win but in terms of winning the nomination the writing is on the wall- we need to focus on delegates now.

We are not dancing. We are disagreeing.

Paul doesn't have to ask how high every time FOX tells him to jump.

FOX has not only done NOTHING to help Paul win, they work hard to keep people from seeing him as a credible and viable candidate. They are what have hurt him more then anything else.

To act as if they are trying to help Paul win, is dancing around Pauls decline of attending a Huckabee stroke off.

awww c'mon...ya know its very possible FOX did this on purpose knowing Ron has a busy campaign schedule and KNEW Ron would turn it down so now they can spin this to make Ron look bad.... And besides, huck is a dick.

As much as I want Ron Paul to show up I think Ron Paul is actually doing the right thing. All the MSM do not give him any gratitude or do anything during the week to bring him up. Ron works hard for the people like drilling Bernanke and Hilary. So if your not going to give him coverage during the week or until a debate or interview is done why bother showing up. Also Ron is working to try to win in Washington to give him a boost for Super Tuesday. That is the most important of them all. We need a win in a state before and Washington is important.

As grassroots we need to keep working hard and often. PFH and do nothing things to get Ron Paul's name out there. As you can see most debates mean nothing as Ron Paul smashed the others in the debate and got little boost from them. So it is not that big of a deal if he shows up or not. So everyone chill out and keep working. Until the convention we still have a lot of work to do.

If he fairly gets news campaigning in Washington it will be worth it. There has been how many debates so far? This is fox. These old folks have already settled on Romney or Santorum. I applaud him, now lets just hope he can win WA!!

It would have been a hatchet job anyway. Ron's time is better spent pulling in delegates.

I'm not so sure. 2 scenarios for the ~300,000 or so Republican voters who watch Huckabee's show:

1) Ron Paul is on, 1 of 4 remaining candidates, is asked marginal questions such "Are you just trying to get a speaking slot?" but also a few decent questions.
2) Ron Paul isn't on, 3 candidates are. Average viewer "These must be the only 3 candidates left running."

I think scenario 1 (while far from ideal) is the better of the 2. I'm glad we stuck it to Trump, but skipping these Huckabee deals seems more damaging then going would be. And Ron did a freaking interview with Huck between the last forum he skipped and now, so its not like he has a complete moral objection to going on his show.

I think we need to be on Huckabee's show.

Edit: Although not at the expense of campaigning in Washington. If that's the reason for skipping, I'm ok with it.

Ron Paul needs to be on Fox News as much as possible. If he doesn't want to go on O'Reilly or Hannity, Doug Wead should.

Since he'll be campaigning in Washington and volunteered to do it as long as he didn't have to be there in person, I have no problem with this. Seems like a good campaign move.

RP and the campaign are to blame for him not being on O'Reilly. I do not like O'Reilly, but I do not believe RP should ignore such a major show either. The campaign has utterly failed in the media department, while spending millions on attack ads.
Go on O'Reilly, GO to the Huckabee forum, and just be prepared for the stupid questions by ignoring them and delivering your own message. Pull a Romney, "That's a very interesting question, but here we are $15 Trillion in debt, millions out of work, and a President that takes vacations while tax payers have to foot the bills. There are more important questions you should be asking." Pull a Newt, get them to focus on the Federal Reserve, RP's budget plan, RP mentioning he gets more money from troops....etc. On Iran, "I don't want them to have a nuke, I have said it before. When elected President though, I am not King either, and I will take my oath very seriously. If Congress sees a threat to the United States, it will be dealt with through proper channels...see Article I Section 8 of the Constitution."

For those saying it's not a good move...why? He will be in Washington instead on caucus day. We need him in Washington not on Fox News where they will try to corner him. It's a wise move by the campaign. If it were up to me he wouldn't be on Fox News again unless it's with Neil C.
