That shows the man has no fear, which is a good thing. Hopefully he's learned the lesson "Don't ask question you don't already know the answer to" like "Did you know the founders of the NAACP were republican?" Or if you ask such a question, do it in such a way that no matter how the question is answered you come off looking good.

Example : "Can someone tell me which president first implemented set asides for minorities?"

If someone answers "Richard Nixon." then say "That's exactly right." If there's no answer, or if someone says JFK or LBJ answer "Actually it was republican Richard Nixon."

Then follow up with "While I'm not in favor of any preference for any group over another, isn't it interesting to note that it was a post civil rights era republican that instituted federal affirmative action?"

Or....he could skip talking about Civil Rights altogether and instead talk about abuses under the GWOT and how Wall Street bailouts were sellouts of mainstreet and why we should all be concerned about borrowing money from China.

borrowing money from China.

What?

The US isn't borrowing money from China. China is just holding US Treasury bonds that will mature in time. China isn't going to do anything else with those dollars so they're just storing them in a savings account at the Fed.

Hopefully he learned from his Howard visit, and hopefully the audience is open.

I read that speech and I thought it was good... I also watched few q&a and it looked good too.
Some people got impossible standards I guess. Just by going there he is in better position than any other republican... maybe politician...

He's going into these 'territories' because he knows what he believes in and firmly stands up for those beliefs, like his father.

That is the difference between him and Rubio. Principle vs Plastic Man.

Rubio is also trying to appeal to this demographic. Mainly by discussing 2Pac, NWA and Africa Bambataa during interviews and quoting Wiz Khalifa and Jay-Z during filibusters. He's a total joke.

He succeeds in coming off as silly to everyone, a stereotyper to blacks and offensive to white social conservatives.

Um, bb, there's a word for taking money from someone in exchange for a piece of paper ("bond") that says you'll pay them back the money plus interest later ("will mature in time"). That word is "borrowing".

Can I take it you're a product of the public education system, my friend?

This is just laughable.

So it's setting impossible standards to expect a politician to know what happened to the two major parties post 1964 and why it happened?

No, he said simply by going there he did so.

This has absolutely nothing to do with my post.

A country that issues its own currency does not have to borrow in its own currency. If no one bought the bonds, then the Fed would buy them, as it's been doing which is effectively just financing the government. The US government doesn't even need the Fed to buy the issued bonds. It could direct the Fed to print up as much money as it needed.

Also saying that the US borrows from China, brings up these false notions that the US is somehow subservient to China, or that China is the US's banker or that the US is dependent on China. The US doesn't need China to keep on financing its government.

Well neither did yours with his.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Read my post. I was mocking his notion that it's setting impossible standards for Rand not to skip US political history from 1964 to the present day.

Which Barrex never said.

See, I will do the same thing:

This is laughable. So it is setting impossible standards to expect Rand to eat a banana every day?

I hope Rand doesn't talk about the history of the Republican Party and blacks this time and simply talks about his philosophy.
