President Ron Paul Vice President options

Peter Schiff couldn't get elected in little CT. Give us a break & Merry Christmas.

Jim Rogers?

That's someone I've always thought would be a good VP. Not only is his ideology nearly if not the same as Paul's, he is well respected in the business world and in media, he vocally opposed the bailouts, and he is a billionaire that can self finance whatever it takes to defeat Obama. Also he's a nice and charming guy. I don't think he wants the job, but if Paul actually got the nomination and he put the offer on the table I think Jim would take it.

Does Jim still hold US citizenship?

I suggest Judge Napolitano. He has name recognition and follows the same Constitutional philosophy as Ron Paul. I would firther suggest Sheriff Mack for Attorney General, and the first Supreme Court vacancy should go to Edwin Vieira, who is one of the great Constitutional minds of our time. He has 4 PHDs and is considered to be a great Liberty minded scholar. Depending on whether Karen Kwiatkowski gets elected to Congress, I would urge Ron Paul to find a spot for her in his cabinet.

Shorty Dawkins

NOT MARTINEZ! She is a former DA & hardcore "drug warrior." I certainly DON'T think it should be me since I'm not old enough, but it should be someone who posts on ronpaulforums on at least a somewhat regular basis . . .

I still think Pat Buchanan is the best option. He could help us with blue collar workers which could be criticial in states like Ohio, Michigan, and PA.

Wow, I had not even thought about Pat Buchanan. What a stab in the back that would be to the GOP, who trashed him in 96 like they are trashing Ron Paul this cycle. I am not sure how much support he would add to the ticket though.

A Third-Party Floodgate

If Congressman Paul gets the GOP nomination, I think it would be a grand opportunity for him to choose a lesser-known liberty candidate for his VP position. That way, it will possibly boost third parties into the mainstream, and they both could work to open the political process towards more competition in elections on a federal level for other seats, as in Congress, Supreme Court, etc.

With that in mind, I would like to see Dr. Chuck Baldwin as Congressman Paul's choice. They have been friends for years, they share the same positions on Constitutional issues, they've each endorsed each others Presidential campaigns in the past, and they both have the same zeal for restoring the principles of our Founding Fathers (both in religious and political expressions).

Lets start with the nots:

No to economists: Williams, Schiff, Rockwell, Woods etc. CHECK

No to small-name liberty friends: Karen K, Sherriff Mack, Chuck Baldwin etc. CHECK

No to media personalities: Stossel, Judge, Church, Doyle CHECK

No to Rand. CHECK

No to Democrats. CHECK

Understand this:

A VP pick should have these things in mind(but not all are needed)-shoring up base, expanding base, helping in swing states, balance CHECK

They should agree with the Prez on many, but not all issues CHECK

Ron Paul will be 77 years old. Voters need a VP they can be confident in to step in. Sorry, that is the deal. CHECK

My picks: Luis Fortuno, Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn

(Apologizes to Gary Johnson and Mark Sanford, you took yourselves out of the running)

*Note: Justin Amash it too young, and Mike Lee is probably too inexperienced.

Don't forget: proven executive experience. CHECK

John Mackey for VP!

My top three....

1) Barry Goldwater Jr.
2) Chuck Baldwin
3) Jesse Ventura

Honestly, I can't think of a single person as VP where I WOULDN'T vote for RP as President. He could pick a neo-con, libertarian, democrat, liberal or green party politician and he's getting my vote. Goldwater or Baldwin would tear apart Biden, easily and I would love to see Ventura debating Biden.

Pat is my number 1 political hero, but a combined presidential age of 150 might not sell. Plus Pat belongs at the top of the ticket. :D

Despite some of your knee jerk reactions to Rubio, you won't find a more all around VP candidate. He won with 50% of the vote in FL in a 3 way race. He is very conservative on most issues, maybe not as libertarian as some of us. He has a story. He is young and good looking which actually helps with females. Republicans LOVE him. He is articulate and will attract a very fast growing population within America, the Hispanics. If Ron/Rubio received 50% of the hispanic vote, the race is over for Obama and the Democrat Party in general for a long time.

FL and NM would be a definite shoe in this time around which any Republican nominee would need to win.
