Pregnant women now posting videos of taking Tylenol because Orange Man Bad

The one time Kamala Harris was RIGHT!

@PAF is sounding smarter every day. Maybe the Federal Government just shouldn't be involved in healthcare at all. This idea that pregnant women should automagically stop taking all pain medicine just because Tylenol has a warning label to "consult your doctor" just like all pharmaceuticals, and just because the current government says "autism" and spins around 3 times is bat guano crazy.

So....are there any other pharmaceutical options for headaches that do NOT say "consult a doctor before taking?" I'm pretty sure such a warning label is on EVERY pain drug.

Probably not.

I reckon it's a generic sort of warning and a lawyer shield.

ETA - I just checked the warning label on a bottle of Walgreens ibuprofen and it had no warning for pregnant or nursing women. Another bottle of Walgreens acetaminophen, bought at the same time from the same store, does have a warning for pregnant and nursing women to consult a doctor before taking. I can post pictures if you like.

Regardless, does that mean you should take Tylenol when you really don't need to, while pregnant, record yourself doing so, while doing a "smug" dance, then post it to shittok, in order to "pwn" Trump?

Why "consult your doctor if you are pregnant" is NOT the same as "No pregnant woman should ever take Tylenol because...autism."

This is from 2020:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning that use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) around 20 weeks or later in pregnancy may cause rare but serious kidney problems in an unborn baby. This can lead to low levels of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby and possible complications. NSAIDs are commonly used to relieve pain and reduce fevers. They include medicines such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, and celecoxib. After around 20 weeks of pregnancy, the unborn babies’ kidneys produce most of the amniotic fluid, so kidney problems can lead to low levels of this fluid. Amniotic fluid provides a protective cushion and helps the unborn babies’ lungs, digestive system, and muscles develop.

Translation? During the end of pregnancy all anti-inflammatory drugs (Tylenol, aspirin, ibuprophen) cause a risk to the baby. So it's generally a good practice for a pregnant woman to "consult her doctor" before taking any of them. But that's NOT the same as saying "Don't take Tylenol because...autism."

Well it SHOULD have the warning label. Here's what the FDA had said for quite some time about ibuprophen and pregancy.

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. It is especially important not to use ibuprofen during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless definitely directed to do so by a doctor because it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery.

One of the clips that I saw posted, a woman literally said "I am taking Tylenol for my headache even though I'm pregnant and Trump says I shouldn't." Now, hopefully she's consulted her doctor or at least WebMD. I agree people should do things just to "spite" someone else. But the gubmint shouldn't be coming out with recommendations without data. RFK Jr. wants to fund a study on Tylenol, pregnancy and autism? Have at it! (Except the feds have dried up a lot of money for basic research).

Autism isn't even a real thing. Everyone thinks their kid is autistic but what they need is either social interaction or a beating or both

And if that doesn't work then the kid isn't autistic, the kid is just retarded. Probably inherited from parents

Maybe it should.

But the bottle I have right here in my hand, does not.

The label from Amazon brand ibuprofen does have a warning, however.

Of course he's right. @PAF

I don't think there's anybody here that would dispute the fact that, if we are ever going to unfuck health and medical care in the US, it will require government withdrawing it's stupid beak first.

No, everyone WANTS their kid to be autistic nowadays. It's hip and trendy.

I knew a guy with an actual non-verbal autistic kid. It's a lifetime commitment to care for them.
