According to the Politico article, Benton wanted this to happen. My guess: Perry said something that he thinks is important. By dismissing it, the campaign hopes to get further under his skin. Remember Aquabuddha? These boys know how to play politics.

A picture is just a snapshot in time. At that particular second Perry may have looked menacing but that does not mean he was aggressive towards RP.

Yeah, but that is just a picture - gestures and facial expressions change dramatically in the course of a conversation, naturally. What seems menacing frozen in time may have been part of an overall exchange that wasn't particularly noteworthy.

Ever have your picture taken right before you're about to say something? Like right before the actual word comes out of your mouth? Often times your eyes will be half-closed, your mouth will be distorted... your hands might be coming up... your chin might be drawn in... you might look like a doofus in that frozen-in-time picture, but viewed naturally, in real-time it wouldn't seem odd at all.

Maybe something was said, and maybe it wasn't, but I'm inclined to believe Ron... and I'm definitely not going to make an issue of it if he's not.

When I saw this thread revived, At first I thought it was talking about Gage's photos being used for that ad...
