NJ Diner Leaves Anti-Gay 'Tip' for Lesbian Waitress

If you have a personal issue with a waitstaff then you should request another or go to a different restaurant. Allowing someone to serve your meals and top your drinks then breaking out the "I'm not leaving a tip because <insert personal baggage >" is nothing more then being a cheapskate and an asshole.
Exactly, they could have moved sections which would have probably chapped that girls ass a bit, but she would have gotten a table more accepting of her lifestyle. But no, they chose to sit there and 'be offended by her sexuality' and not tip. Douche family are douches.

I'll leave an establishment if I don't care for the staff or their clientele.

Sticking around to hurl insults is a bit sophomoric.
The SO and I had our date night a couple nights ago and did this very thing. We were in somewhat of a hurry before our movie started, so we went to a restaurant that wasn't too busy. Took a couple minutes of us standing there to be seated, then we didn't even get silverware/water/menus for over 5 minutes. So, we got up and went somewhere else. It was pretty pathetic.

I would like to say that even though I am against the homosexual lifestyle, I wouldn't deny someone a tip, nor would I have asked for someone else to wait on me.

In the past few weeks there was the person who allegedly wrote "******" on a receipt, a person who allegedly put a fake $10 bill with Christian evangelizing on it, and now a person who allegedly hates gays.

Did anyone say "stop me if you've heard this one before"? At this point I can only assume ALL of these incidents are manufactured propaganda.

Indeed...Or at least agenda specific.

Sure, they are douches; but your suggestion of changing tables and chapping her ass a bit would have been a surefire way to have their food unpalatably adulterated. The only other real option would be for them to leave the restaurant.

"Blowback". The word is rapidly becoming a joke. It is kind of like a 5 year old that learned a new word and now wants to use it everywhere.
If we want to go that far and say Blowback for every past wrong, why don't we blame the police state on the years of armed robbers, murderers, rapists, etc. It is blowback for years of people being scared to go to work or not feeling secure in your own house. BLOWBACK!

That wouldn't be an overreaction though? They simply could have said to the manager 'we don't really like our seating, if it's possible for us to be moved to a new section that would be great.' I've done it over having a server who's attitude I didn't like, it's not an unreasonable request. If your food is in anyway less than satisfactory after that, you can go right back to that manager. But, that would take into account the wife not saying something as childish as she did first.

For what it's worth, I was a server for over 3 years and this happened often enough to at least not be a big deal.

That would have to be one of your most profoundly ignorant posts.

The "Gay Agenda" or Gay activism can be directly traced to direct persecution and abuse.. It is a reaction and a response to to direct policiies and actions targeted at them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots

After the Stonewall riots, gays and lesbians in New York City faced gender, race, class, and generational obstacles to becoming a cohesive community. Within six months, two gay activist organizations were formed in New York, concentrating on confrontational tactics, and three newspapers were established to promote rights for gays and lesbians. Within a few years, gay rights organizations were founded across the U.S. and the world. On June 28, 1970, the first Gay Pride marches took place in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York commemorating the anniversary of the riots. Similar marches were organized in other cities. Today, Gay Pride events are held annually throughout the world toward the end of June to mark the Stonewall riots

We all had a collective feeling like we'd had enough of this kind of shit. It wasn't anything tangible anybody said to anyone else, it was just kind of like everything over the years had come to a head on that one particular night in the one particular place, and it was not an organized demonstration.... Everyone in the crowd felt that we were never going to go back. It was like the last straw. It was time to reclaim something that had always been taken from us.... All kinds of people, all different reasons, but mostly it was total outrage, anger, sorrow, everything combined, and everything just kind of ran its course. It was the police who were doing most of the destruction. We were really trying to get back in and break free. And we felt that we had freedom at last, or freedom to at least show that we demanded freedom. We weren't going to be walking meekly in the night and letting them shove us around—it's like standing your ground for the first time and in a really strong way, and that's what caught the police by surprise. There was something in the air, freedom a long time overdue, and we're going to fight for it. It took different forms, but the bottom line was, we weren't going to go away. And we didn't.

Whether you agree or disagree with the reasons,, it is irrelevant.. There are reasons

Actions= Reactions
That is the definition of Blowback.

The Stonewall bar was owned by the Mafia, so it kind of makes sense that the police would be concerned about what was happening inside.

I honestly do believe there would be less crime if it wasn't for the police state. For one thing, there would be a lot less cops getting killed if they weren't busting people up for using drugs. For another thing, the society in general would be wealthier and more productive, and its obvious that people who are propserous commit less crime than those who are not (Obviously exempting those who are propserous BECAUSE OF CRIME, or are able to legally get away with crime because of state-sanctioned privilege.) So, as much as it might seem absurd at first glance to call high crime rates "Blowback", its probably to some extent true.

@pcosmar- I hate all tyrants, I don't care who they are. I hate the tyranny imposed in the name of Christianity, and I hate the tyranny imposed in the name of homosexuality. But right now, gays and zionists are imposing far more tyranny than Bible-believing Christians. That's just the reality. Was it different 50 years ago? Maybe. As an 18 year old, do I care? No.

They have the right to not tip for any reason.

She has the right to not serve them for any reason.

That was easy.

She had already served them though, and tips are generally expected. I understand its not required, but it is expected, and the waitresses do need them to survive. I know that there's an intention not to tip if the service is truly awful, but because she was gay? Give me a break. And yes, you're right, there shouldn't be any legal sanctions against this family. But their behavior was not acceptable for a Christian.

Who said they were Christians and why does it matter?

"Christians" are just as bad as gays with imposing their values upon others. Both have the right to live their lives as they see fit, but both are notorious for proselytizing.

I suppose its possible they were some other religion, but honestly, I doubt this would have gotten any traction if it was another religion. And I seriously doubt an atheist, agnostic, or similar cares if someone is gay.

I proudly "proselytize" whenever I can. There's nothing more worth discussing than the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything else should be secondary to that, and if it isn't in my life, I'm doing something wrong.

And I really don't care if you like it or don't like it.

The homosexual movement (Note that I am not saying that every gay person is part of the homosexual movement, in fact, I would say every single gay person who is actually a libertarian is NOT part of the homosexual movement) honestly doesn't seem to care much about peacefully convincing people to accept their lifestyle, and they aren't trying to make people gay either. What they are trying to do is force people to accept them through the law. They only use persuasion to the point where it helps them with doing that. They are fascists.

The person is probably just cheap and leaves notes for all waiters..."I don't approve of your shoes' or "I don't approve of your hair style"....

Funny how this kind of stuff becomes news. I woman gets insulted and a news agency writes a story about it. At one time though, gay meant happy.
WE Know This Game...

The job of government and partners in crime, Fascist media... to divide the people, keep all of the people opposing one another, creating controversies, which results in perpetuating the news. Government's job has been the creation of dividing people by groups in a slew of titles/labels; sex, creed, color, ethnicity, age, religion, persuasion, social status, economics... divided and kept preoccupied with the trivial matters while they're all being raped multiple ways by Uncle Sham. So, when the people bicker between groups/individuals, the weakness and ignorance continues.

Ron Paul has touched on this many times... I think George Carlin took it even further...

That comment and unpaid tip was totally uncalled for. The restaurant should ban that family from coming back.

On the other hand, you have to wonder if we have the full story (which we never do when it come to the media). She says "it took (e)very fiber of my being not to spit in their food". That would be long before the check. What really happened? If she was angry the entire time, did she really provide good service?

Per the OP, they had already made a comment about thinking she was going to tell them her name was "Dan" so there were some implications from the very beginning.

* * *

Hooboy the article and thread are full of some interesting leaps. Taken at face value, the "tip" just says that they disagree with the lifestyle choice. It could have been the earring, it could have been thinking that she used to be a he (not a lesbian, but a tranny), it could have been something the waitress said that showed the family she was a lesbian, it could have been something she said to indicate she was an atheist... you could go on and on. We really are going on a series of deductions that the "lifestyle" they disagree with is the waitress' lesbianism. Did the tip say anything about God? Christianity? No? Believe it or not, there are a LOT of non-Christians who dislike gays or trannies or any number of other groups of people.

There are a number of ways this could have been fixed without the publicity that suddenly seems to follow every incident of a weird receipt these days. The waitress seems (and we do only have one side of this story) to have provided the service she's paid to do, and the customers paid the bill. If everything is on the up and up, what you do in this case is go to your manager after you see the receipt, and discuss it with them. They may decide those customers aren't welcome back, particularly if there have been other instances.

A good manager might even make up for the lost tip if the waitress is a reliable and steady employee. Think about it : an employer could turn this whole thing into a chance to make a super-grateful employee just by throwing a $20 her way here... but they can't do that if they are not given a chance.

I have my suspicions here. She's spit in an adult's food because they said they thought she was a guy? She'd remove a receipt from her job to post on a website with a gay agenda, even though neither the receipt nor her story about the family includes any explicit reference to her sexuality? That doesn't make so good an impression, does it.

My point was,, that you cannot address an issue if you do not understand the issue.

You end up with stupid stuff like "They hate us for our Freedoms". and going to war for no good reason at all.
Or acting like the bigots in this story,, who judge someone on an outward appearance.

I get it from some folks because of the length of my hair.. and it is just stupid bigotry.
