New spin: He travels first class to Congress (how desperate are they??)

Cheap shot.

Nancy P. had to have her own private jet and was staying in 10K a night hotels.

No story on how he doesn't take any pension. That is worth much more than the 1st class flights.

Going to the bottom of the barrel for their stories now.

Dr. Paul should answer such a question as some others here have suggested, In addition, he should tell the questioner he would fly his own plane if he had one. :D:D:D

Ah Pelosi... Air Force Fun

The documents, uncovered by political corruption watchdog Judicial Watch, reveal that the US taxpayer was billed for $101,429 in Mrs Pelosi’s in-flight services just for booze and food over a period of two years.

What does this tell you whats wrong with politicians like Pelosi, who required Air Force fighter escort flying over the US! One DOD official complained about the "hidden costs" associated with the speaker’s last minute changes and cancellations. "We have…folks prepping the jets and crews driving in (not a short drive for some), cooking meals and preflighting the jets etc." Speaker Pelosi came under fire in 2007 for requesting a 42-seat Air Force carrier to ferry the Speaker and her staff back and forth between San Francisco, CA and Washington, DC.

Speaker Pelosi’s office requesting an Army escort and three military planes to transport Pelosi and other members of Congress to Cleveland, Ohio, for the funeral services of the late Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Pelosi noted in her letter of August 22, 2008, that such a request, labeled “Operation Tribute” was an “exception to standard policy.” it serves as a reminder that Pelosi traveled with so much military armor that even Patton might think she over did it.

They're trying to turn off the Tea Party votes after the HUGE endorsement last night...

Lol he should flip it around on santorum. " I've given back hundreds of thousands of dollars over my years in congress and my son just gave back 400,000 as a senator its not done very often just ask senator santorum how much he's given back.

Paul fights Washington spending, flies first class.

I've been watching this story grow this morning....

Paul fights Washington spending, flies first class.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has been spending large amounts on airfare as a congressman, flying first class on dozens of taxpayer-funded flights to his home state. The practice conflicts with the image that Paul portrays as the only presidential candidate serious about cutting federal spending.

Paul flew first class on at least 31 round-trip flights and 12 one-way flights since May 2009 when he was traveling between Washington and his district in Texas, according to a review by The Associated Press of his congressional office expenses. Four other round-trip tickets and two other one-way tickets purchased during the period were eligible for upgrades to first-class after they were bought, but those upgrades would not be documented in the expense records.

Bachman is mentioned in this article - it would be interesting to know what class other politicians fly.
I wonder if any reporters fly first class?

......aaaaaaaand returns $150,000 of his Congressional budget back to the American taxpayers.

I just wish it was the taxpayers who got that money. To bad he can't have it sent to them in the mail as checks, instead of letting the government have it to waste on other things.

They are trying to split him from the OWS crowd, paint him as a 1 %'er.

Heaven forbid even a third of the OWS movement grows a brain and figures out Ron Paul actually has the best answers to why there is such a wealth disparity in our country.

Add that to the base he has now and he would be unstoppable.

As to the portion of the OWS crowd that is truly anti-free market capitalism, well they need to vote for Obama I guess.

Ron Paul agrees. :)

Maybe Ron should use those frequent flyer miles.

He does. Guy has been flying back to his district every weekend for over 20 years of DC time.

The real spin on this should be to compare it to the congressman that never go home except for elections.

"He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year."

It would be nice to put some numbers to this to offer some comparison to the airfare.
