New spin: He travels first class to Congress (how desperate are they??)

This shouldn't have the heading of "News" it should have the heading of Bullshit and Propaganda.

"And I gave back $148,000 of my budget to the Treasury, saving the taxpayers more than any other member of Congress."

/smearquestion

That right there puts the whole story to bed in my eyes or any reasonable person's for that matter.

"He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year."
It would be nice to put some numbers to this to offer some comparison to the airfare.

Not to mention that every single flight, summed together is less than ONE bomb dropped in our many undeclared wars.

He could easily smack this down. Only question is whether he would or whether he'd fumble around with it.

There's no more frugal member of Congress. None.

This doesn't make any sense. It is perfectly reasonable to fly first class if you can afford it. It's not like he's in trillions of dollars of debt. Besides, I thought Republicans of all people would support living up to your means (not below them) if you are wealthy (enough). That's capitalism, man!

Any 76 year old man should fly 1st class...do you know how hard it is to get in and out of a cramped economy seat, especially when the person in front of you leans their seat back? Also he is less likely to be heckled by passengers travelling first class.

While they are at it, why no press why Herman Cain was given secret service protection by B0 and none of the other candidate have been given protection from what I can find. Dr. Paul is paying for his own security.

How about reporting that presstitutes.

X ($$$ amount of ALL Congressional pay raises he voted against) + Y (Amount of savings as a result of declining pension) + Z (Total amount of yearly budget he returns) = How Many Millions Saved to Tax Payers.

Most of them were bought well in advance and FEW schedule changes were necessary. It does/did happen and why should he be stuck with the bill? You can't have a US Congressman haggling for tickets when he's supposed to be attending to his peoples' business.

Lol if he flew in economy, the media would've found him and/or he would be swarmed for autographs.

Dumb article

If Dr.Paul wins California, I'll chip in major money to buy him his own plane!

We'll be lucky if this comes up in the debate tonight. With just a little coaching on the subject, this should be like swinging at a baseball on a tee for the good Doctor. There are some many ways of pushing this off and using it as an excuse to disclose real wealth hypocrites like Romney, or Newts House Ethics fines, or the fact that Paul sends six-figures of excess Congressional budget back to the taxpayers each year.

This 'hit piece' is almost too easy.

He's being thrifty with is health care by avoiding a source of deep vein thrombosis.

XNN

This one is maddening. If you Google Ron Paul, then click over to related news stories, sort by date, and hide duplicates, the WHOLE PAGE is still covered with this one story. Nothing about the recent endorsement...

Talk about desperate...

Fox news now has it on the front page of their website. This story seems to be blowing up quicker than the newsletters. I would now put it at 50/50 as to whether it comes up in the debate tonight

Ron Paul votes against Congress pay raises, does not participate in the taxpayer funded Congressional pension program and would take only $39,000/year for salary as President instead of $400,000/year. Associated Press: Paul flies first class sometimes.

Here's a story on Fox Nation about this:

h t tp://nation.foxnews.com/ron-paul/2012/01/16/paul-fights-washington-spending-flies-first-class

Getting pretty negative feedback in the comments section.

The media are so desperate...
