New PPP poll: Rand only at 4% (5?) but does the best against Hillary

Trump is not Cain. He oozes confidence and relishes fighting with GOP establishment figures. He's not going away. I've been watching Trump's press conferences and I have been surprisingly impressed.

The way Trump smacks down neocons like Charles Krauthammer is rather refreshing.

I don't think people care about his past positions. They enjoy watching him embarrass the field and exhibit his Type A personality. The electorate hates the GOP and Trump is feeding into that hate.

Spot on. There's an undercurrent of seething anger in the electorate.

Few questions:

Do you think that Rand is trying and giving his best?

What are you doing to help him?
I think Rand might have damaged his father's base so such an extent that he's now out their in the wilderness without any base of support. Who exactly is he going to win over with his Iran talk? Hawkish voters have much better options than Rand, they don't trust him or like him. Cruz, Rubio, Walker, and to an extent Trump all make better landing spots for them.

He's not trying to win votes on Iran, that and the CRA stuff are his 2 weakest positions he knows he will get attacked on if he doesn't put some distance between those and his father's. People here on RPFs who follow Rand's day-to-day have known this was going to happen for at least the last couple years. The campaign has made it clear when they are trying to win votes, because they will have Rand out on an issue that is politically damaging for opponents to go against (like with the Patriot Act stuff and probably next week Planned Parenthood), but for whatever reason they do anyway.

Haven't been on here in a while, but all I have to say is... You don't do real estate in New York City without cutting deals with labor unions and mostly the mafia. (and taking people's hard earned property through eminent domain) And for all people talking about Trump being a self-made man... he inherited his wealth and then went bankrupt 4 times.

Rand really screwed up to have some of the people on this forum lowering their standards to a proven scumbag like Trump. So that's his fault. He shouldn't have pandered on Iran or military spending. That's my big beef with him. But I must say, I really like his tax plan (for a start) and economic recovery plans. Taking out the chainsaw was outlandish and made me chuckle. I liked the gimmick. I also like that the NSA and government intrusion is one of his main topics. His filibustering of the Patriot Act and NSA was what made his poll numbers so high to begin with. He should go back to that, IMO.

AuH20, remember this?

Trump would be very competitive in a general election scenario, but he would get destroyed with women voters who are obsessed with decorum and political correctness.

You know how feminists sometimes end up with a bad boy? Something similar might happen. Once Trump finished slapping Katy Tur around, she was ready to have his babies.

Lew Rockwell today writes:

No Gender Gap for Donald
Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr.

Though masculinity is allegedly out of style, Republican women love the masculine candidate.
