Be honest, I haven't watched this yet, just posting based on the comments/feedback.
Apparently he dropped a lot of F bombs.

That's their natural position.
I'm almost 30 minutes in. His history of the H1B program is spot on.
And much of the nation does not value education. You would be fine with this argument if it is applied to the ghetto, but you take it personally in this case.
And that is the context in which she said this. But when talking about H1B visas, making these arguments is tone deaf. It either dismisses or is ignorant of the reality of the situation. There are American kids who excel at STEM, and get degrees that should land them entry level jobs. But they are excluded, and the reason is the H1B program. It opened the door to a vast number of people to come to America, and then engage in cronyism, where they only hire their own. that is the problem at hand. To dismiss this as racism is what Musk and his sycophants are doing right now, and that does result in angry responses.
Profit is not profit when you end up as the richest man in the dunghill because you sold your home to be used as one.You mean RINOs and pretend-libertarians. Profit is profit like gravity is gravity -- you can't be rid of it for trying. The globalist, omnipotent State is profiting at this very moment to the tune of billions of US dollars sent to Ukraine, Israel, and many other countries where wealth produced by hard-working Americans has no business being looted by a corrupt collusion of hostile foreigners and domestic turncoats.
So, yeah, profit is profit... that means that Burisma is the "market arbitrage" on the absolute refusal of the RINO/neoCON Establishment to actually pay attention in economics class instead of day-dreaming about how they're going to outfit the new yacht their daddy gave them for Christmas and how much that will impress their country-club buddies. The RINO jocks have an absolute stranglehold on the R-party and they've had it for at least the time that I've been alive... they are an incorrigible bunch of self-righteous, know-it-all meatheads who simply won't listen to reason because they're already on top of the world so obviously they're right about everything. Except Burisma. And Israel. And Iran. And ISIS. And on and on the list goes.
The neoCONs -- a bunch of trained Marxists in "conservative" camouflage -- have been spinning these brainstem jocks in circles for decades with just this one simple trick. Make the RINOs feel like they're important and in charge of everything, and they'll let you do whatever you want. As long as you stroke their ego... flattery is the oldest and cheapest method of seizing power. This is why Brian Williams described the video of Baghdad being bombed to oblivion as "beautiful". Tell the MIC their crimes are "beautiful" and they'll hand you the nuclear codes.
Profit IS profit. That is as true in North Korea as it is in a Colombian jungle coke plantation as it is on Wall Street. It is not the (true) libertarians who are pollyannas; it is the RINO/MIC/neoCON Establishment that has become a teetering gerontocracy, the ugliest form of wolves competing for the inheritance when today's Alpha finally keels over. Wisdom -- let alone understanding or even just basic knowledge -- fits nowhere into the picture.
We have to have a border in order to have a country. But the people who are currently running that narrative are mostly neoCON wolves. Don't fall for the sheepskin camo, it's a ruse...
We should get rid of the 30 millions illegals first and then talk about H-1B reform.
... I am absolutely baffled why the Right suddenly considers this a hill worth dying on.
...
...Real competition is a core American value. ...
I've worked with a lot of H1-Bs because I work in high tech. Here are the traits I have observed in my slice of that world:
- 99+% of them naturalize
- They actually like, even admire, America, both as a land and as a people
- They are actually intelligent, and have real degrees; many of them get their graduate degrees here, not abroad
- The overall cast and hue of H1-B immigrants is socially liberal (but non-Woke), fiscally conservative
- I personally know Indians who vote Republican and are hard fiscal-conservatives; Vivek is not a rare bird
I'm not going to say there isn't a tertiary agenda by the Indian government. I'm not paid enough to know such things. But whatever their agenda, they are absolutely not the same situation as we have with the southern border. Musk is right: H1-Bs need to be fixed, but they're not the substance of the border problem. I am absolutely baffled why the Right suddenly considers this a hill worth dying on. It feels like political sabotage, actually, because this will not play out in the long-run. H1-Bs are not holding up your liquor stores and whatever job displacement may be caused by fraud or crappy administration within immigration can be fixed by properly enforcing the rules and having rules that stop fraud. And if someone hired from overseas actually is better for the job... then so be it. Real competition is a core American value. If you (generic) lost your job because an Indian was (truly) better qualified ... stop being a loser and be the better-qualified candidate. That's America 101!!!
Just thought it might be helpful to mention that Indians are called "The Jews of the Orient" in Asia.
Let that sink in.

Easily fixed by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically.
I’ve been very clear that the program is broken and needs major reform.
