Rand's lost around 3000 "likes"on his Facebook page since his appearance on Shamnity. He's lost his most ardent base of support. I think his political career may very well be over, as it should be.

No doubt this has been a shock to all of us and we are reacting as such because we are passionate not only about Dr. Paul, but about what he has taught us and to move such forward....but stop and think about the last the couple weeks. Something happened. I am not going to speculate what, but I seriously doubt that Rand went against his dad. We have only had a glimpse of Dr Paul these past years - Rand grew up with him - everyday! - loves him! Could any of us truly love or understand him more?! I am not saying that we should throw in the towel. In fact we should PROCEED AS PLANNED. This is not the time to be wishy-washy. We have committed to a goal with our minds, hearts, and wallets and we need to follow thru. I think Dr Paul is COUNTING on this...and therefore US. There are a lot of things that remain to be seen, & a lot can happen. I don't know that anyone can tell any of us what to do, but I do know that perseverance is in order for all of us. In any army everyone has an assignment, and all lead to a specific goal. If certain parts of that army doubt their commander and go their own way it injures the whole. So regardless of what Rand has stated (and please note that he told SH)(?????) we should proceed as planned. I am. I'm not going to panic. For the first time in my life I am sure about something and I'm not going to give it up as easily as some of you seem to have done. I believe in what Ron Paul has taught us, and I am in this for the long run. If I am willing to do such WHY WOULDN"T HIS SON?!!!

His son just endorsed and is planning to campaign for a known warmonger who supports war on Iran. How could anything be more diametrically opposed to everything Ron Paul has preached against? The one thing I do know is that we don't know what has gone on behind the scenes nor do we know anything apparently about how Ron Paul wants us to proceed. I also know that a boatload of liberty supporters just jumped ship tonight.

No it won't. He just gained a bunch of neocons and shored up his support with the rest of the co-opted tea partiers who will also vote for Romney because their moral compasses quit working quite some time ago.

It's a tongue and cheek way of saying....Hey look Ron is shaking things up. Romney is a weathervane candidate, Wants to please everybody, sell everybody out on the way. Everybody takes a turn manipulating Romney. Romney says whatever he can to get the primary votes. Then says whatever he can to get endorsements. Whatever he can to secure the nom. And then he will say whatever he can to get elected.

"Rand is at the controls" because Romney let him. for now. Don't worry, Romney will be back to his old self next week...Or a different one. Maybe he will. maybe he won't. maybe both at the same time. Who really knows.

4 more years of Obamney either way. Lest we lose sight of the fact that Rand is in the GOP, and this sort of crap happens every day. The GOP cannot be "fixed." It can only be ripped to shreads. Hoping for the first...planning for the latter.

i dont for a minute doubt that his voting record will remain true to the constitution.

I am, however, beginning to have my doubts about his ego/intentions/character. I will continue to support him because he is the best available at the moment and his record is quite good, but, I will not hesitate to drop him for a better candidate.

I don't care if Jesus Christ ran for president I would vote for Ron Paul because he has my trust and i don't question his sincerity and motives, but his son on the other hand is nothing more than an empty-suit to which i will try and use to advance freedom.

Rand Paul not only proactively endorsed Mitt Romney earlier than necessary, he upped the ante by saying he will CAMPAIGN for him. Now THAT'S a Team Player. Much-respected Ron Pauler Marianne Stebbins admitted that she had to, I quote, "MAKE A DEAL WITH HERSELF" to sign a pledge to vote for Romney in November...before adding that she does NOT plan to CAMPAIGN for him.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LIKE y'all to be right. But I do NOT think you are getting the upper hand over the GRAND OLD PAR-TAAAY, and I do not think that the LIBERTY & JUSTICE FOR ALL component of Ron Paul Support will EVER get the upper hand over the OLD BOY NETWORK via the Grand Old Party. Which is NOT to say that some Ron Paul Supporters will not be successful within the Political Class as Republicans. The Moovement is absolutely on track for THAT.

I know, I know . . . the Few who DO succeed will become more and more (and none of them will have been Posers and none of them will succumb to temptation or coercion and Bad Guy Republicans will hold still and LET all this happen) until one fine day, we will have a majority of right-thinking, right-acting Republican Majorities.

Yes, yes, yes, the war between GOOD and EVIL is ongoing . . . our whole lives, as it was throughout the lives of the people who came before us, as it will be throughout the lives of the people who come after us.

But I'd ask again about a timetable for the more specific battle of "taking over the GOP". If it is like warring with Afghanistan, where a timetable compromises the mission, let's compare notes in 10 or 15 years. To me, it looks like some Innocents are setting up Chinese Checker plays WAY ahead, as tho no other players will move any pieces...and like some Operators are encouraging them to invest themselves in Disappointment.

...even if Ron was the president tomorrow he alone wouldn't be able to right the ship, it would still take local state and national congress to support the things we support. it goes together and it always will when we fix the foundation of the failing structure from the bottom up our sucess will be much more easily measured than having done it from the top down.
