Whatever happened to “Senator” Rand Paul? He was never great, but he went really BAD! I got him elected, TWICE (in the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky!), but he just never votes positively for the Republican Party. I doubt it. My guess is neither side is going to learn anything until the economy crashes. Assuming it crashes on Trump's watch I predict most of the Trump supporters will abandon ship. The democrats won't learn anything until around 2030, a year or two after they've elected a hard core socialist.

I don't think there's much chance of that. Massie's Christmas Card (with his family fully armed) was constantly being shown to Democratic voters as reason one to stay away from the guy. If anything, Democrats are relishing the internal civil war in the GOP hoping it will give their candidates an edge in the election - they'd much prefer to run against a non-incumbant than to run against the incumbant Massie
