I am reading through Maji's posts, and I can't see why he was banned.

Notice how this guy doesn't doubt that there has been warming over the past few decades, like most people on this thread. You can't argue that there hasn't been global warming occuring -- he just argues that it will reverse itself in coming years. And we all hope that he's right.

I looked him up on wikipedia and noticed that he's also a believer in intellegent design. Why am I not surprised ...

We have a power hungry mod. There was no reason to ban maji. He was insulted on a daily basis, and never retaliated. The forum admin even came into one of the threads and said there was no reason to ban him. Then 15 minutes later one of the mods swung the B&hammer

Well, it's a point. But I must confess I was ready to ban him when he started that "who's a racist?" poll. We don't need this site to pop up when someone does a web search on the name of racist organizations, imo.

And as I understood it, he called all of us the name--and every other Ron Paul supporter ever. He was a troll, and something of a megalomaniac too. Sorry to those of you who miss him. I don't

That seems to be the way 90% of forums out there work. Mods can ban, with some checks and restraints to the practice.

Brandon, this has been explained to you many times. As the forum guidelines state, off-topic posts are subject to deletion. In practice, we typically do not do this unless it gets way out of hand, or the TS requests it. Even then, if there are a number of off-topic posts, we often just split the thread so that all the posts are retained.

+ Off-topic posts - Posts that do not relate to the threads intent are subject to being deleted.

I think the most man made part about it is the story about global warming now aka climate change.
