Hispanics Overwhelmingly Support Stricter Gun Control Measures

If we absolutely have to import more foreigners, then by all means let's import people more amenable to our founding values. Salvation is not going to come from south of the border.

We should just create a guest worker program, so that all the Latinos can come here and work, but they wouldn't be allowed to vote.

If we had the proper societal filters as opposed to wanton multiculturalism encoded in our various institutions, we could actually bring in the right type of immigrant from south of the border. The type that would want to take a step towards American Liberty and Western Civilization as opposed to transforming their new country into a facisimile of their old. But that horse has left the barn many decades ago. Now it is our "obligation" and "responsibility" to be the world's halfway house with no predetermined ground rules. The inmates are running the asylum so to speak, in this mad dash to feather their ethnic nest by any means necessary.

Hell, our own population isn't amenable to our founding values. Maybe we should think about deporting those dependent on gubmint.

Our own population is made up of people we allow to immigrate here. I think mass German immigration is responsible for all the changes that took place in the early 20th Century. Political beliefs don't usually change overnight.

Another thread that goes out of its way to confuse "Hispanics" with "(probably illegal) immigrants."

Yeah- who needs all those church-going people ruining our Sundays? (hispanics are the most likely group to attend Church at least once a week- more so than whites).

All this talk about Mexican food is making me hungry, it's my favorite. And to make matters worse there's a crockpot full of home made chili cooking in the kitchen and it smells heavenly. :toady:

Makes me want to go to Rubio's and pick up a couple Fish Tacos Especiales (with guacamole) and a Corona. Their original store is just a few blocks from me.

Are you suggesting that religious affiliations are an excuse for sucking the government tit?

Mmmmm..... creamy sauce, cabbage and plenty of pico de gala and a squeeze of lime. :)

The post suggested that immigrants didn't have values (at least not the same ones as the Founding Fathers). I guess going to church isn't one of those values?

Are you suggesting that they are all on welfare?

Welfare is the name given to a set of interconnected programs aimed at low income families. Programs include job training and family planning. It also includes cash assistance. In 1994, whites made up 38 percent of all welfare recipients, blacks 37 percent, and Hispanics 17 percent.

Effects

For the most part, welfare is a transient program. Recipients don't remain on the program forever. Fewer than 20 percent of all people on welfare remain on the program for more than seven months. Another 20 percent are on welfare for one to two years. Still, 27 percent remain on welfare for two to five years. Of all welfare recipients, 20 percent remain on welfare more than five years.

Sorry boys, but a fish taco just sounds plain flat out disgusting to me.

from the link

12 corn tortillas
BEER BATTER
1 cup flour
1 cup beer
garlic powder (to taste) pepper (to taste) WHITE SAUCE
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup yogurt
SALSA
1 garlic clove, peeled and minced
6 tomatoes, ripe, peeled, seeded and diced
1/2 onion, minced
2 cilantro leaves, chopped, stems removed
2 jalapeno chiles, seeded and chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
oil (for deep frying) GARNISH
1 head green cabbage, shredded
1 lime, cut into wedges
Directions:
1
Mix flour with favorite spices such as garlic powder, red or black ground pepper.
2
Stir the flour mixture into the beer and mix until well blended.
3
Wash fish by dipping in cold, lightly salted water or water with a little bit of lemon juice added. Be sure fish is completely dry before dipping into batter.
4
Prepare salsa; reserve.
5
Put the vegetable oil into a deep skillet and bring to 375°F
6
Place fish in a single layer--do not let pieces touch each other.
7
Cook fish until batter is crispy and golden brown.
8
Heat corn tortillas lightly in a skillet or Mexican comal until they are soft and hot.
9
To assemble, on each tortilla layer the fish fillet, white sauce, salsa and cabbage. Top it off with a squeeze of lime. Fold tortilla over to serve.
---------------

I make my own salsa though. I guess you either like em or not. I thought they sounded disgusting until I tried one.
