I've only got tears in my eyes one time and this is coming from someone that almost never cries unless a close death is involved. But that one time was right as Ron Paul walked out on stage for his Maine 'Victory' speech. No matter how many times I watch it, I can't help but see the sadness in his eyes. I know he claims to not be an absolutist but I have no doubt he was assured he would win that day. He tried to sound and remain cheerful and optimistic, but I honestly teared up for him that day. It broke my heart to see it right in front of me. That no matter how honest, caring, and knowledgeable this politician was, no matter how much of his life he has dedicated to believing in what our amazing country was founded on, the voters still didn't turn out to give this man a win. I have never in my life been so shocked, confused, and sadden all at the same time as I was that day. I saw a man fighting for his life for what he believed in, and in an instant I saw it all be crushed by the greed of our own government.
