I wish we would push stories like that instead of half-baked conspiracy theories. Not only would it prevent us from being a laughing stock, but I find it much more compelling and closer to the actual truth.

This news is just breaking, so we will certainly get more details soon. But these are my first thoughts…

It could be that the US Syria policy is producing blowback already. It is well known that one of the largest components of foreign fighters fighting with Al Qaeda in Syria against the government is composed of Chechens (see here).

It just came out that the Boston attack suspects are also Chechens who had paramilitary training. There is a good chance some of their buddies are fighting in Syria and benefiting from US aid to the rebels.

Ironically it was only 3 days ago that Assad said that the US support of Al Qaeda in Syria would come back to haunt them, just like it did with supporting them in the 80s in Afghanistan. Looks like he may have been correct.

Unconfirmed reports say 'white hat' bomb suspect is Tripathi, a student who disappeared on 16 March

THERE is speculation the Boston marathon bombing suspect being sought by police may be Sunil Tripathi, an Indian philosophy student studying at an Ivy League college who disappeared without a trace on 16 March.

The unconfirmed reports – which appear to have originated from a conversation overheard on a police scanner - suggest the bombing suspect seen wearing a white baseball cap in photographs released by police may be 22-year-old Tripathi, The Times reports. He was last seen at 1.30am near the campus of Brown University, a prestigious institution in Providence, Rhode Island. Family and police feared that his disappearance was a suicide.

Tripathi has been described as a "left-wing Marxist of Indian Brahmin descent", whose father is a successful software developer. His family set up a Twitter account and a Facebook page last month to help the search for him.

Authorities have warned that the so-called "white hat" suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, NBC reports.

It has been suggested the name of the second suspect – who is believed to have died of gunshot wounds following a shoot-out with police – is Mike Mulugeta. At this stage, authorities have not confirmed the names of the suspects.

The Brown Political Review says the FBI pictures "bear a possible resemblance to Tripathi". The website adds that if Tripathi is the man who has been linked to the bombings, it "would be a jarring and surreal ending" to concerted efforts by the university and its students to locate him since his disappearance.

Shortly before Tripathi's disappearance explosives were found near Brown University. They were destroyed in a controlled detonation and police have yet to implicate anyone in the bomb scare.

Authorities have identified the deceased suspect in the bombing of the Boston marathon, which killed three and injured more than 170, as Tamerlan Tsarnaev. A user by that name has posted a video to his YouTube playlist extolling an extremist religious prophecy associated with Al Qaeda. It is not clear yet whether the user is the same Tsarnaev as the deceased suspect.

The YouTube page includes religious videos, including one of Feiz Mohammad, a fundamentalist Australian Muslim preacher who rails against the evils of Harry Potter. One playlist includes a video dedicated to the prophecy of the Black Banners of Khurasan, which is embraced by Islamic extremists—particularly Al Qaeda. The prophecy states that an invincible army will come from the region of Khurasan in central Asia.

"This is a major hadith (reported saying of the prophet Muhammad) that jihadis use, it is essentially an end-time prophecy," says Aaron Zelin, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy "This is definitely important in Al Qaeda's ideology." In The Black Banners, the book by former FBI agent Ali Soufan that is named after this prophecy, Soufan describes the prophecy this way:

Khurasan is a term for a historical region spanning northeastern and eastern Iran and parts of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and northwestern Pakistan. Because of the hadith, jihadists believe that this is the region from which they will inflict a major defeat against their enemies—in the Islamic version of Armageddon.

The videos were posted on a playlist called "Islam" four months ago under the username "muazseyfullah." According to Zelin, "Mu'az is usually a name," and "Sayf Allah means sword of God." Here is the video:

FOX reports... that ABC News spoke with their father from Russia. He wants Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to turn himself in... "he's young and still has a future" BUT... if the police kill Dzhokhar, "All HELL will break loose".

Again, from FOX News, that ABC News telephone interviewed his father.

BUT FOX NEWS also states with their pundit professionals BS psychiatrist pundit, Dr Keith Ablow, about the Tsarnaev's/Chechnyas, "Those that hate liberty and are self loathing, self loathing so they can project on others". referred to them as, "Locked dogs... Stray Dogs. Not so much lone wolves... their lives are horrible, they have impoverished spirits internally, they project this explosive rage on others rather than dealing with it themselves"

Of course, Ablow stated nothing clinical.

At last count, their must be half a dozen different official media version now. The suspects keep changing, the number, the bombs (none at the library now), etc etc etc.

They've had suspects going all different directions too.

Tell us, tell us good people, what version to believe so we won't doubt it!

Maybe the video has been replaced by an eye witness, story kind of changing morphing kind of thing.
