You're not going to believe this audio - Nueces County Texas Republican Convention

While listening to this, I imaginged myself there, picking up my chair and smashing it against the chairman's podium. This infuriated me.

I'm not sure the best thing to say as to what the grievance should be stated as but complaints are good.

Here are other Nueces County related emails of GOP officials to complain to:

A similar thing happened in the Nye County convention in Nevada, and while we were still able to get a majority of the delegate spots for our State convention, they were able to illegally stick 20 people into delegate spots illegally. The system, and the people are very corrupt. they don't look at ron Paul supporters as legitimate Republicans coming into the party, they look at us as invaders to their power structure, even though we really do stand for what they say they stand for.

This is sickening. They write the rules, we follow them, we're more intelligent than them, they get mad, they break the law, and then try and fuck us over. We have to fight this type of trash. I assume the people are going to take some kind of legal action?

EDIT: I actually had to turn on "One Love" by Bob Marley to get me to chill out after hearing this. Marley is definitely the one thing that can chill me out after anything. (Without anything to help him too!)

This is the result of a two party only system. I think that instead of trying to retake the republican party it might be worth considering making access to the process legitimate for other parties. Two parties are just one party better than communism.

We're working on it all. Our state convention isn't until June. It's not going to be ignored.

You have to address this now. You need to file a grievance with the State GOP to have the entire process overturned. And, hopefully, have the chairman removed. I would not stop there. Get a friendly media source (the Houston Chronicle has been amenable though an Austin paper would be better) and get the full story out there. Try one of those local TV shows that purports to fight for your rights. We have a couple here in Dallas but something closer to Corpus would be better.

The time to fight this is NOW. Do not wait for the state convention. Continue to use the rules to your advantage. Use the rules and the media to your advantage. You then have the option of turning to the judicial system. The GOP rules are filed with the State's Attorney. As a last resort you could file suit against the chairman, the local GOP and the state GOP if they do not provide redress. Your current congressman is a democrat... but, perhaps a republican congressman in a neighboring district might be able to provide assistance.

Knowing the rules is critical... read them all thoroughly... don't depend on advise from this forum (some of it is not correct)... do your own research and enlist a like minded attorney for advise. Winning this now will be critical for being seated at the State Convention. Plus, it will be a good example to any others trying to silence the RP delegates in other districts and states.

I hope you have the contact information for the other delegates who walked out. Perhaps a meeting to discuss your options would be in order. Record everything, especially contact with GOP officials... you folks have now become the pointy end of the spear and you have an opportunity to make a real difference. I can't think of how right now, but let us know if we can help you. A victory in Corpus would be a big deal.

good luck and keep up the good work

First, I'm not in Nueces myself, I'm in DFW (do I know you?). Second, don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying we're waiting til June to deal with this. The SD conventions were the 29th; we've spent the time since then mostly working on what challenges need to be made and getting everything together. I'm being vague about who all "we" is and what all is going on rather than post every detail here because that seems prudent for now, but a whole lot of detail will be released at the right time. If the Nueces people want to go into more on this one here now that's certainly their own business.

Sorry... i thought you were one of the folks in Corpus.
The TX State GOP convention is in June as well.

We just finished an ugly mess here in Mecklenburg County, NC. The Democrats used crony-mastered precincts to select a sherrif's nominee in a special election. This dominated the news for a month or more, and resulted in a Democratic hearing by the state party that threw out the election. The hearing itself produced jaw-dropping admissions of negligence and vote rigging.

I actually think this spectacle may have played a role in the fairly clean GOP caucuses we've had in 9th District, since the Repubs have an incentive to demonstrate that they can hold fair party elections.

Anyway, this has the potential to be a big scandal and bring a lot of disgrace to party leaders, if the media picks it up.
