I am 53, make > 90k and have a college education...

I have supported RP since 2007. I watch FOX News... live in the town where Sean Hannity got his start... listened to him from his first day on the air...

RP's appeal to me began with the constitution, role of government & monetary issues. I had the "military industrial complex" mentality. When I attended our meet-up groups I noticed the variety of people attending. Old, young, "pro war", anti war, pro abortion, anti abortion, all types but could work together because the common issues.

I think, at least one way to reach people is not to try and force all the ides on people but find the common areas... The constitution, liberty freedom

most can rally around these. bring up the more controversial as they arise but dont be so pushy about things you don't agree on.

don't be "punks"

You shouldn't watch Fox News or listen to Sean Hannity, and don't call us punks.

Use your brain..... I did not call anyone punks..... I simply said don't be punks...

If you use your brain you can sort out what the talking heads say you can discern good from bad....

If people are really "stuck" on Fox news or any other channel you attacking them and telling them they are stupid for doing this and they should not... well
you are not implementing RP's philosophy.......

He basically doesn't tell people what to do... you should be winning people over... not pushing them away by telling them what they should and should not do...

What do you mean by "people who are stuck on Fox News?" You are one of those people, and yes those people are stupid for doing that. Furthermore, Hannity being from your "hometown" doesn't mean he's not a sellout scumbag. The guy who committed the Atlanta child murders in the 1980's was from my hometown but you don't see me being a huge fan of his.

People gather information from many sources... Fox news is one... Again you make assumptions... Ass of you and me... you know?
Just because he started his talk show career here doesnt mean i agree with every word he says.
I disagree with hannity on many things... disagree with limbaugh on many things really disagree with levin... that doesn't mean i should not listen to them.

Thank you for calling me stupid.... you are proving my point...

MMM i think sellout scumbag is really going to win him over... keep it up... hell you might end up as famous and the snowball throwers...

@EndTheFed, now you can see why us older people have to have a really thick skin to even converse on these forums. If this forum is indicative of the majority of Ron Paul supporters, it's not hard to understand why the older people don't wish to be associated with them.

It's been difficult all these years with some here talking crap about older people, but I have to just consider how I felt about older people when I was that age and then I understand.

There is what has been commonly called a generation gap. It's strange how those same younger people like Ron Paul and yet he is one of the older people.

I am a regular Hannity listener. Besides talking about Paul, he is good to listen to.

Besides trashing your candidate he's wonderful? Wow, nice to know that Ron Paul doesn't mean that much to you. I swear that we won't win until Republicans love Ron Paul more than they enjoy giggling to Hannity and Limbaugh bashing Obama.

I listen to talk radio and other people I partly disagree with for a few reasons..1-some times they are entertaining 2-its good to know what the people that we are trying to convince are hearing 3-I just like to hear what people think because it gets me thinking.

Is that ok with you???
Am I stupid because of it???

Anyways, this is important. We've got the young vote locked up but it's not near as important as the old vote, for this election anyways. Older people are the ones who vote. This needs to be priority number 1

well as reagan said (for us geezers) "I will not let your youth and inexperience be used against you in this election"

yea in 2008 I had many discussions about this crap.. It HURTSSSSSSS Ron Paul's message...

Kevin.... Please pay attention...

I'll keep repeating til Ron Paul and his staff wake up and do it correctly. You have to alleviate the fear that the elderly have that RP will cut Social Security and Medicare! You have to! I saw several interviews with Ron Paul today, and I didn't hear him cater any of his responses to the elderly. I didn't get to see all of his interviews today, so maybe someone else can tell me if he did.

But I saw the Piers Morgan interview and I wonder how in the world did he have 15 minutes to speak and he didn't focus several minutes to issues that the elderly want to hear about. For pete sake it takes a few minutes to say all is okay I won't cut those things and the elderly can open their heart to him.

Also this will sound like a dicky comment but it's not meant to be. For the love of pete get a haircut and dress fairly respectable. Also women dress respectable as well and use minimum make up when walking around NH or anywhere greeting people. I was watching CSPAN last night and we looked like a bunch of rugrats. Trust me I don't mind, but we are fighting for liberty and if you have to sacrifice your cool dude looks for something that the elderly find more pleasing, than suck it up and do it for a bit. It won't hurt you, and it only helps Dr. Paul.

Wow, you are close minded.

He is okay. If all I listened to was Ron Paul I would go nuts. No offense to him, he is amazing, but I need some diversification, geez......

I listen to all sorts of radio hosts. I am a radio guy.

You listen to Hannity for a laugh. Right? You don't believe anything that he is selling. Correct?

It's a "free" country you can listen to whomever you like, but I don't dig his gimmick. Guys like him are no better than Glenn Beck, Jim Cramer, or Jerry Falwell. I still remember Hannity swearing up and down that he has never watched porn. That is the moment people should have never listened to him again.

Don't mind them. They just need a nap.

We really need to listen to people like the original poster.
Bridging the gap is key.
There are so many threads that pop up asking "why are old people so stupid?" and "old people are sheep."
This attitude does not help win the over 55 vote.
People do not want to belong to a movement which is hostile.
Don't be hostile.
People older than you might have different priorities, but liberty is a universal priority.
The trick is to find the common ground first.

Do you know the average age of the Revolutionaries in 1775? Most were in their twenties and thirties.

Patrick Henry was 29 when he wrote his Give me Liberty or Give me Death speech. Thomas Paine was 37 in 1775. Thomas Jefferson was 32. John Hancock was 37. George Washington was 43. John Dickinson was 43. James Madison was 24.

You do not need to be 50+ to be wise, experienced, well-read, articulate, and of capable caliber to lead and inspire. I could name a majority of the delegates that were in their late 20s and mid 30s. Are you calling the majority of the Founders of this country unwise, and inexperienced? How many 50+ year olds have read nearly a quarter that of the average Ron Paul supporter whose average age is the same as was the Founding generation at the time? Reagan's line is only good insofar as you don't go past the platitude.
