This could just as easily be spun as pandering. But just for kicks, gimme some names of possibles.
Every politician except Paul routinely panders. Pandering is a great American tradition in politics. Nobody is going to reject Paul because he pandered to the black vote.
Being labeled a racist is death.
So which is worse, being a panderer, or a racist?
Picking the specific VP is a job for the campaign staff. They need to find someone who shares Paul's politics, or at least is not against his politics. I personally thought Colin Powell could have been a home-run, but it looks like he is fawning over Obama. I've heard JC Watts suggested, and that would be acceptable to me. Walter Williams has been tossed around as a potential VP for months. I think a prominent black actor could be a win also, Bill Cosby, Denzel Washington? A relative unknown could be good too, if they're charismatic and have a good resume, somebody from the military perhaps.
