Here's why Don didn't swear by the Holy Bible for the Constitution.

Last night before attempting to sleep, amongst my prayers I asked God to let the truth be known as to why Trump did not swear on the Holy Bible for his Presidential Oath this time. I was thinking that he should say something, to give the public clarity.

So, I had a hard time falling asleep, for reasons having nothing to do with this, and it was not even on my mind at all... then, it happened...

Out of nowhere, a conviction pulsed into my head... like a message, not like my own thoughts doing any reasoning, but a bolt of lightning...

The reason why Don didn't place his hand on the Bible is because he takes oaths to God's Word deathly seriously.
More seriously than he takes the Constitution of the United States.

It comes down to this -- if he has to break the rules in order to save the country, or the world, he's going to do it.
He is prepared to break the rules of the Constitution, because his duty is higher than its restrictions... and if those restrictions make doing the necessary and good impossible, he will do them nonetheless.

When he swore this oath, not on the Bible, but as a pledge made to MEN, and to the LAW, he said:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." (So Help Me God) but not as an Oath to God by His Word.... just as a "disposition" to follow it WHEN it is the Right Thing To Do, but NOT if it isn't.

Don doesn't see the Constitution as ON PAR with the Bible, or his duty to God, or to the PEOPLE.

It's different this time... it really is.

I had a similar thought. I wasn't gonna open myself up to the forum flaming because lately I have had so very little energy for it.

My thought was basically:

Joe Biden placed his hand on the Bible.

The gesture of putting one's hand on the Bible either means something, or it doesn't.

And if you think it means something, and you have any doubt that you can keep your oath, then perhaps it is better NOT to involve a compact with the Almighty.

If the long chain of presidents we have had throughout our history took it that seriously, none of them would have touched a Bible.

My theory: Dotards gonna dotard. Dude is pushing 80, probably preoccupied that he needs to take a piss.

Technically, believers are not supposed to take any kind of oath, Jesus explicitly told us not to do that:

"Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.'

But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matthew 5:33-37)

In the case of common "oaths", such as in a marriage ceremony, courtroom or public office, such oaths can be stated in good conscience by the believer so long as it is understood that this oath is simply a formal way of saying "Yes, I agree." The "or else" implied in oaths, however, is what Jesus is repudiating above. For the believer, there is no "or else", because every "Yes" and every "No" is itself as binding as any oath. The "or else" for the believer is being told by Jesus, "Get away from me, you evildoer, I have no idea who you are!" (Matt. 7:21-23)

So, I see no need for Trump to place his hand on the Bible or even to raise his hand, except as formalities. If he is a believer (which he claims to be), then his Yes must be Yes, and his No must be No.

Nothing to do with the Bible.

I bet Billy Clinton looks over at Donny and his wife and daughters and thinks dirty things.
He has some hot babes in his corner!

I believe it was Bongino who said that day that Roberts had rushed the oath, so people were all still trying to get into position when he started the oath. Who remembers when Roberts screwed it up with Obama?

Not buying it. Don was literally inches from Melania and she was holding them right there in his field of view.
She was surprised and even uttered something.

He did it intentionally, and that's why he has not addressed it.

We can only hope that the reason is what I posted.
