I own a business (and also work for a large company) so I see both sides. Being my business is small, I simply would never hire a good looking woman to avoid destractions and to make my wife happy. If I were an absentee landlord, then sure, as long as she is the most competent at her position.Or receptionists. Generally women have more of a helper personailty. They are less likely to see the big picture and run major organizations. And many of the women who do get that far, usually dont deserve it. For me, I would be cautious hiring a woman to a top level position. Especially a good looking woman.
All I know is that in the company where I am now, I pump out more articles and edit more press releases and products than any other editor. Now, I do this while running a full time business. In fact, I'm posting here because I get the work done so much faster and my other employee just came in, so I don't have to work on the cars.
But, I know no woman that can do what I do as effectively, because they are not decisive and pragmatic decision makers, and don't like being pushed to perform.
The funny thing is too that women employers will push men more than women, instinctively knowing that men are made to work. It's incredibly unfair.
