Plus, is there anything to gain by Rand being someone's VP? I think that would be a net loss. Rand is better off in the Senate than being a VP to someone I would think

If Greg Brannon manages to pull off an upset and become Senator, then maybe VP wouldn't be too bad, but I don't think losing people in the Senate for VP would be too good

I think this post pretty sums up the Ron Paul "revolution." This guy whined about how unprincipled Rand is and now expresses support for the two absolute worst candidates.

who are the best candidates at this point?

Not voting, LP/CP and even Cruz are logically defensible if you supported Ron Paul. The reason he gave for supporting Sanders wasn't even good. Rand is more non-interventionist than Sanders yet he hates Rand but says Sanders is great on foreign policy.

As I suspected, the Ron Paul people are splintering badly, and this was happening before the election vote in Iowa too. I post to other forums and Ron had way more support than Rand in 2012, as in over 50% more. This time the internet was right. It appears starting in 2012 with the GOP contest people(Ron's core followers) weren't willing to accept Rand's transgressions. As one poster put it the other day, sadly, "The Paul's era is over". The revolution Ron started in 2008 has sputtered out, and the truth dies with it.

Very Sad :(

I'll be voting for Trump. I'm may be totally wrong on this, but I think he's the last chance we have of destroying the neocons once and for all. He blusters a lot, however he talks the talk of a noninterventionist. He said he excepts the Iran deal and will not change it. He has no problem with Putin and will get along with him. He'll take our troops out of Ukraine. He's opposed to 'regime changes'. 99.9% of our wars are dirty wars -- wars where our military trains and arms one group of people against another. I don't think Trump wants any part of that. Trump's main issue is jobs and trade.

All trump is is talk. He'll say anything to win. I'd rather vote for a democrat than trump. Oh wait, he is a democrat.

I stopped supporting and campaigning for Rand after he signed the cotton the letter. I believe Bernie is indeed better than Rand on Foreign policy. I said I would vote for Bernie not actively campaign for the dude. Calm down lol

People have varying priorities, a lot of people were attracted to Ron for a lot of different reasons and a huge part of Ron's appeal was foreign policy and anti-globalism. People were attracted to Ron the person as much or more as they were to the ideas.

I saw Austin Peterson's video that he put out this morning. I may look into him more. I don't know yet and I'm not ready to start considering other options yet. What I do know is that none of the remaining democrats or republicans will be getting my vote.

Sanders so the collapse comes sooner before they start taking away guns. Also if a Dem wins, it's that much sooner Rand has a chance to run again.

Yea. He's lying. :) 28 years ago.

Sounds like the same guy to me, without the simplistic language.

You are right. He was an economic illiterate then too. He hasn't flip flopped on not understanding trade. That's the one issue he has stayed constantly terrible on not even deviating by accident out of his anti-market views.

Well, it's back to the way it was before Ron ran.

They present us with a room full of clowns and ask us to pick one to be the president.

No mater what, we end up with another clown in the White House.

I'd say it has a lot to do with the reinvigoration of the war on terror, ISIS, recent mass shootings, etc. I would be surprised if even Ron himself would have gotten as much attention as he did in 2012, in this climate. Which is sad. It's like the country has slid back into early 2000s post 9/11 fear and anxiety. Or at least Republicans have, and apparently Iowa. It was disgusting how gleeful they all were at the debate after San Bernardino.

Cruz. I don't think he's the second coming or anything and won't be rigorously defending him, but I think he is the best that is still in the race.
