3. John Scott

Sanders. I'm a character voter, not party or policy. His platform won't pass in a correctly working system of checks and balances, but the presidential veto and commander in chief is very much in play. I want the person of most moral conviction and rational foreign policy at the helm and he's the only one aside Paul who meets the requirements. I'd rather have 4 years of gridlock again to give us another shot at a fiscal conservative in 2020.

I might be joining you, but we'll be outcasts here for it. Lol. The way he was marginalized and turned it around with grassroots to compete with a political juggernaut is very very eye opening. There's word that Iowa was possibly stolen from him as 6 areas were decided by coin flip where Hillary won all 6 coin flips. Certainly possible, but wreaks of eye rolls.

I hate a lot of his policies, but the guy doesn't apologize for who he is.

I'll be voting for Bernie. I know everyone on here will disagree with me for this but when it comes to the Presidency I only care about Foreign Policy and unfortunately he's the best remaining of the lot.

No it won't. Insurance lobbies will not allow single payer to happen. Both parties like things more or less how they are. Hate him, but he doesn't want things the way they are. He will get almost nothing done if by some miracle he wins (he won't). And both parties will point to him and say "See? We told you that you need a moderate.".

this thread reminds me of a plant closure i went through where i worked for 15 years. You get close to your fellow workers, almost like family, then in a wink everyone is gone. Went there separate ways in a cloud of dust and hanging heads never to see them again....

but, as an eternal optomist, i always see light at the end of the tunnel....we will rise again.

i wont vote for Cruz but I'll be interested to see how things go if he does win...more so than any other candidate.

He only stands against republican wars and doesn't mind wars that his own party loves. He's more of a party hack than a dove.

...Notably he supported NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, a stance which caused one of his staffers to resign in protest...

...The attack on Kosovo is hardly the extent of Sanders' hawkishness. While it's true he voted against the Iraq War, he also voted in favor of authorizing funds for that war and the one in Afghanistan. More recently, he voted in favor of a $1 billion aid package for the coup government Ukraine and supported Israel's assault on Gaza. At a town hall meeting he admitted that Israel may have "overreacted", but blamed Hamas for the entire conflict. After a woman asked why he refused to condemn Israel's actions, he told critics: "Excuse me! Shut up! You don’t have the microphone.”

To be honest I would pay to watch Trump debate Clinton. I would laugh so hard when he calls out Bill for his rapist ways.

bingo... and calls out hillary for threatening juanita broaddrick. then calls her out for defending a child rapist/beater. hillary had the nerve to attack the lil 12 yr old girl while she was still in a coma... said "she asked for it" really hillary? a 12 yr old girl wanted to be raped and beaten into a coma? hillary got the pedo off with 2 months served. said she was just doing her job.

I'll be voting for Trump. I'm may be totally wrong on this, but I think he's the last chance we have of destroying the neocons once and for all. He blusters a lot, however he talks the talk of a noninterventionist. He said he excepts the Iran deal and will not change it. He has no problem with Putin and will get along with him. He'll take our troops out of Ukraine. He's opposed to 'regime changes'. 99.9% of our wars are dirty wars -- wars where our military trains and arms one group of people against another. I don't think Trump wants any part of that. Trump's main issue is jobs and trade.

“We live in a difficult and dangerous world, and there are no easy or magical solutions. As President and Commander-in-Chief, I will defend this nation, its people, and America’s vital strategic interests, but I will do it responsibly. America must defend freedom at home and abroad, but we must seek diplomatic solutions before resorting to military action. While force must always be an option, war must be a last resort, not the first option.

As a member of Congress, I have supported the use of force only when it was a last resort and America’s vital interests were at stake. I opposed the first Gulf War, as did many other Members of Congress, because I believed that there was a way to achieve our goals without bloodshed, through sanctions and concerted diplomatic action. I supported the use of force to stop the ethnic cleansing in the Balkans. And, in the wake of the attacks on September 11, 2001, I supported the use of force in Afghanistan to hunt down the terrorists who attacked us. I regret that President Bush did not use that authority properly, and that American combat troops remained there too long. I voted against the war in Iraq, and knew it was the right vote then, and most people recognize it was the right vote today. The only mission President Bush and his neo-conservative friends accomplished was to destabilize an entire region, and create the environment for al-Qaeda and ISIS to flourish.

While we must be relentless in combating terrorists who would do us harm, we cannot and should not be policeman of the world, nor bear the burden of fighting terrorism alone. The United States should be part of an international coalition, led and sustained by nations in the region that have the means to protect themselves. That is the only way to defeat ISIS and to begin the process of creating the conditions for a lasting peace in the region.”

– Sen. Bernie Sanders

If he is true to his word on Foreign Policy... he would be lightyears better than anyone in the GOP.

War and Peace....This is also my biggest issue, but unfortunately Sanders' other policy platforms are just bonkers so I don't see myself voting for him... Oh well... back to my bunker!

My sentiments exactly. Take war to the Neocons! Until the neo cartel is broke up, there can be no viable liberty movement.

Is there a chance that if Cruz picks Paul as VP, that Paul will "purify" Cruz by making conditions on the VP deal? Paul as VP would be like having Albert Pujols on the bench in a baseball game. Perhaps Paul could force Cruz to clear up some of his question marks, on issues like foreign policy and the NSA?

My goal at this point is anarchism... fuck it.

Let's go tyler durden and burn this broken farce to the ground... fastest way to freedom is to collapse the system, imo

Anarchism, because we've achieved a level in which all members of society are capable, productive, self-sufficient, or voluntarily cared-for by those who are, is the goal. It isn't the means. And collapse is not the means, nor is collapse the goal.

The means is hard work. The means is compassion. The means is cooperation. The end is peace. The end is prosperity. The is Liberty.

Don't become a political nihilist. The current system is deeply flawed, but the current system can be changed with hardwork, creativity, and persistence. In time, the current system can be molded into one more amenable to Liberty. We've got to work for it though. It won't be handed to us.

I am going to accept the realization that Shillary is going to be our next President. Am going to work on getting my finances in order to prepare for my exodus from a country I no longer recognize.

Presidents pick their VP to balance out deficiencies in themselves so to speak. Cruz won't pick another first term Senator to be his VP. My guess is he will look to the roster of sitting GOP Governors (preferably in swing states) to round out his ticket.

Doubt it, Cruz will strategically pick somebody to soften his image and make peace with the establishment. Susana Martinez, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, you're getting the drift.
