What happened to Steve Dasbach on RonPaulForums and "Bradley in DC"

Can't speak for Steve (he's a great guy, btw). I'm busy with other things and will be traveling a lot: dogsledding, speaking at the Austrian Scholars Conference at the Mises Institute again this year (3 out of 4 years), Easter with the family, etc., but I still pop in sometimes to post something.

That's cool.

Bradley is being modest- you should hear what he is REALLY up to. lol. :)

I'll never forget when you were telling us for months to become delegates and then the Nevada GOP Convention makes headlines.:D

Good. Put me down on the record for urging people to get active in their local parties NOW (go to the boring meetings, help stamp envelopes, work with them to write letters to the editor, etc.) to get yourselves better known and established.

Learn the rules and play the game if you want to win. And no, voting in online polls doesn't count. The rules vary greatly by state; discount advice from those (even with "Dr." in their screenname) who claim one-size-fits-all knowledge of the process.

The national convention that just ended last year adopted by-laws that set the national set of rules (in addition to the state ones ;)) for 2012.

Become local experts in your state to prepare for next time. Start here:

LOTS OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION IN THIS SECTION.

RULE NO. 16

RULE NO. 17

RULE NO. 18

Don't say I didn't try to prepare us. Listening to incompetents and people claiming they have tricks up their sleeves isn't going to help.

Learn the rules, play the game and beat them at it.

Are you in talks with a stealth millionaire?

:O!

LOL! I remember those days too.

I wonder if we'll be seeing a lot more of the old timers on these forums when we get closer to the next elections. I personally find the forums kind of depressing these days compared to early on, so I spend more time at other forums instead. Not to mention that I have very little in common with the views of at least half the regular posters now.

During the early primaries this place was like the wild west, though. You truly had the "big tent" mentality, with some crazy characters mixed in with the usual rigid ideologues. It seems like too many folks with slightly different viewpoints have been weeded out. Or maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion. I remember when nearly a thousand people would be logged on to grass roots central and threads you just posted in would be on page 2 or 3 within minutes. Ah, the good old days.

It's fun to think about how some folks truly believed RP would win in Iowa and were then shocked when he didn't. I mean so many were just "true believers". I thought it was a real blast at the time. Maybe RP supporters were so desperate for votes that they accepted almost anyone, or maybe early on they were just more accepting and open minded. But it seems much different now. Here's hoping for a return to glory (and secret meetings with multi-millionaires)!
