Them Votin Amish
Living on the border of Lancaster and Berks County all my life I have been in constant contact with the Amish. My whole family trades, works, and lives side by side a few anabaptist sects including (Amish and Mennonites). When I was a teenager and working at a local Farm Market i was surprised by how well informed these people were. Some followed the Philadelphia Eagles, some conversed regularly with their UPS drivers about everything, there were a few who would go to neighbors houses to watch TV events...
Though Floyd Landis was Mennonite his amish neighbors followed him like he was their own. They go to townhall meetings and are very aware of the world of us "english."
All I'm saying is... be respectful. Don't be arrogant like them Mitt Romney mormon doorknockers or condescending Protestant missionaries. Speak on their level. For not having college degress they have established a very intricate society that is to be admired.
also Amish tradition created a highly patriarchical community. So I would suggest man on man action, if they will here ya, they might tell the women folk and there ya go... A totally untapped voting resource.
A big thing to point out to the amish and mennonite is the decreasing value of the dollar and how Ron Paul's plan will increase our economy and make expensive missions trips easier and less expensive... Amish are business oriented... explain that perspective....
of course anti-war and pro-life arguments are also necesarry to winning over those blessed people.
P.S. Ron Paul being raised outside Pittsburgh and attending Gettysburg College may help... Cause in essence he lived among the communities being targeted.
