We've just gotten back home. We've been at our polling places since 8am.

Honestly, I expected to do a lot better. We were inundated with thumbs up's and people who seemed to be indicating support.

I still want to pull my individual precinct numbers, but so far we have had one of the highest percentages in the state. (Walton County) It's dismal though, sickening actually.

One question though... wondering if anyone noticed this....
About an hour or so ago when our county was reporting 94%, we were beating Rudy by a handful of votes.... I just got home and it's now showing he has hundreds more than us. I find that ridiculous because well... I've never seen a Rudy sign, met a Rudy supporter (except one guy on the fence between him and Huck), it just doesn't seem plausible that he beat us in this county. Seriously. My mom was telling me an hour ago that we had almost 6.7 percent for Paul, now with only 6% more in (that's like one precinct here! there's only 33), we've been bumped down to 5.5ish. Weird.

eta: honestly I don't know whether to cry or puke or both. we're so exhausted, we've done everything possible. I just can't believe this many people have minds made of nothing but mush.

There is something very strange about the complete inability of Ron Paul to break out of the single digits despite his undeniable growing popularity as measured by donations, meetup members, and straw poll successes.

Very very strange.

Well, I take it back. He did have double digit success in Nevada and Louisiana, yes?

Oh, but the MSM won't report that, so I guess it doesn't count ;)

I feel ya bro.......hey thanks thanks thanks....60,000 plus people imagine that....and that too in Florida....we are all greatful to you nad the rest of the guys out there.....

look this is minus all the people who agree with pauls message but will not vote....we have opened up eyes....I was once a frustrated guy thinking the my fellow Americans will remain cocooned in their patriotism and not open their eyes.....but 60,000 is mindblowing seriously.....

thanks for giving me hope

To assume internet support equals votes, well you're in for a nasty surprise. It's not like the supporters are centralized in core areas so it'd be hard to win states. Well if you looked at any of the recent polls, Florida wasn't exactly going for Dr. Paul.

And when is Louisiana's results supposed to come out? If it has I can't find them.

Thanks for reporting. I will have a beer with you. *cheers*

I think McCain stole the undecided old folks over down by me when he showed face recently. That's what the elderly ones said on the news when the news asked them anyway.

And McCain called my house today.

Thanks for all your work.

Florida has two of the biggest things against us:

Big turnout
old people

=o

And Iowa.

ckhagen - thank you for all your hard work, I totally understand wanting to cry (or puke) - thankfully you have been a part of a great rEVOLution that has just begun. Far, far from over bro.

THANKS again, hope you have a good sleep tonight.

I completely agree with you. Something strange is going on with the publically-reported states.

You guys got more people to vote for Ron Paul than any other state so far, if I'm not mistaken. That's a lot of people by grassroots alone, seeing as how campaign hit a sacrifice fly in Florida.

But I sure understand those post-sacrificed-primary blues.

It's hard for me to believe that television has this much control over the election process, but I guess I'm naive since I don't watch television any more.

But when I hear of all the support that people see on the streets for Ron Paul and he still comes out with 3% of the vote, something doesn't seem right to me.

Can't wait for the Truth Machine to start letting us know who's lying and who's not.

well my county got 4.65%

Paul signs everywhere, too.

There's just too many ignorants allowed to vote.

Here's what's really strange to me. The polls don't lie, right?

About 70% of Americans are supposedly against the war and when the Dream Act was proposed by congress, people burned up the phone lines, email and faxes saying NO!

And yet they vote for juan mcwar and hormonal hillary?????

That just assaults my sense of logic and common sense. Big Time.

My poll numbers were taped to the front door of the voting place after tabulation.

Turnout here was disgustingly low, though RP did manage 9%.

I did a very unscientific exit poll by making a mark for everyone who told me they voted for RP or gave me a thumbs up. I counted 22 but the results only showed 16...could it be that some people were yanking my chain?

I think it would be a good overall policy for all RP'ers to check in with their precinct captain and record their vote as well. I do also wish that I had gotten a paper receipt of my vote as our precinct used computer voting.

You folks over in Walton were dedicate to the cause as were we in Bay. It's definitely disheartening to see the results of all our hard work. I just don't get it. We have had great sign wavings with lots of passersby honking their horns and giving us the thumbs up. Where were all these people yesterday?

Here's the exit poll results from our Bay meetup:

Giuliani 36 8.1%
Huckabee 68 15.2%
Keyes 1 0 %
McCain 116 26.0%
Paul 32 7.2%
Romney 193 43.3%

out of 446 Votes

Reported on TV - Ron Paul 826 Votes 4% (not sure if that is the final tally... need to check it out further).

But even by our own internal polling, we just got a mere 7%. Our meetup organizer however points out that without our meetup group, Ron Paul would have just gotten a few dozen votes.

Signs apparently don't work... check out this array of signs out in front of my voting location, which I polled only about 4 Ron Paul votes:

Note that there were no other campaign signs but ours. (Of course Romney had us out-signed all over town.. he spent a fortune in signs and personnel to place the signs).

Oh well... come on Super Tuesday states... please do better!!

Great job ckhagen and Walton meetup volunteers... let's press on!
