Ladies and Gentlemen:
It saddens me to see so many people with such vision being so shortsighted. How much adversity have we faced only to ultimately prevail? How much disrespect and nay-saying have we endured only to be vindicated?
Despite the timing of the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire Primary, they are ultimately inconsequential states, with low numbers of voters, and few delegates. And despite the excitement and freshness of someone finally running for the White House that doesn’t fall in to the category of “lesser of two evils”, this election is simply the beginning of the long road back the GREAT United States of America. Our leaders have led us down the road to ruin for the past ninety years. Do we think that the road back will be free of obstacles? It may very well take us ninety or more years to undo the damage done.
The minds of Americans have now been conditioned over generations to think that something that is not normal is normal. We will not persuade them overnight, or over a few months, or over a year. That we have ten percent penetration in the Republican Party is an encouraging starting point.
What is most important though is the perseverance of the people behind this message. Ron Paul has been fighting against this machine since the seventies. This is the most important part of his message: Never quit. Take an eight year break if you have to, but never quit.
Folks, we must never quit. Ron Paul is prepared to go the distance. He has the funds to get through this primary election, and even if he doesn’t win, I think that we can get enough people behind Dr. Paul that the outcome of this election can be influenced by us. Also remember that hitting the streets and earning delegates will not only make Dr. Paul’s influence in this election stronger, but the activism and the experience will begin laying the foundation for advancing our message of a truly free USA for elections in 2010 and beyond. Your participation in the local party politics will make you a more effective supporter of local Paul-esque candidates. In fact, you may even decide to run in elections yourself.
The Ron Paul 2008 campaign is the mustard seed. I am strongly encouraged by everything I have seen, and I anticipate even greater success before this year is over, but even if we only end up with ten percent of Republicans, it is the ten percent that history books will cite a hundred years from now when they discuss the turning point in this country from the brink of ruin and toward our ultimate return to greatness.
People who support Ron Paul: I implore you, do not quit. Your efforts have great meaning now, and they will have great meaning for generations to come. It’s hard to see it now, I know, but we must persevere. We must not stop. If you quit now, we will not even be a footnote. Don’t let everything that we have done disappear into obscurity. Build on your successes, learn from your failures. Continue to follow your heart, and use your mind.
This is only the beginning. We will succeed.
