We Have Won

I know i haven't posted much on these forums because most of you already say what i am thinking but I think it is disgusting to think that some people will just give up after we got 8% of the vote in an election that has shunned us so much and is so slanted against us. The point is WHAT THE HELL DO WE HAVE TO LOSE?!? why would quitting ever be a viable? American Soldiers fought a Revolution in 1776, being overshadowed, under-trained and under-manned in a war that was surely not going to go our way but we pulled it off!

We may not win the nomination but the most important thing is to get the message out for that is thing that will truely set us free!

Forget 3rd party for this election.

Focus first on doing as well as we can in 2008, while transitioning the Revolution into a long-term political movement. An energized 5% or 10% of the voters working toward a common goal, year after year, would be an awesomely powerful political force.

We can start this year by ending the careers of every congressman who pushed for HR 1955, for instance.

Then, we can work on taking over what's left of the Republican party (at all levels) after they crash and burn this year. We would only think of going 3rd party if we couldn't take over one of the major two.

Phenomenal post!

This campaign has come sooooo far and we as individuals have put up with a lot but, i know many of us are in this for the duration; I know i sure am.

Yup. You got it bro. We've already accomplished more in year than we've accomplished in 30 years.

True. And to the OP, thanks. I really feel like curling up in a ball in a dark corner somewhere, apathy was lurking. I'm going to get a good nights sleep and deal with tomorrow when it comes. One day at a time.

This period of time between the earlies and michigan is going to be our Valley Forge. We've got to stay focused on the long term, and we can't forget that we are the ones with the financial advantage. Whether or not fraud occurred in New Hampshire or Iowa, we've got to move on. If we can keep winning more individuals to the cause, we will prevail.

Those of us who have just recently joined the liberty movement are just starting to feel what the libertarian long-timers like Dr. Paul and others have gone through for decades. We have to pick ourselves up off the floor, and never forget that we are fighting for ideas moreso than anything else, and that is what sets us apart.

I myself am a fairly recent newcomer to the movement, and, truthfully, I was a neocon who had never before known what it feels like when my candidate didn't come out on top. I can see why Dr. Paul is happy with the results; this movement tends not to lose supporters in the long term, and that is why this campaign, win or lose, will have been the best thing that has happened to the movement to date.

Now we need to keep doing what we've been doing: winning more individuals. We will take our country back.
