Yeah. Trying to appease Paul with a "pat on the head." Like Ari Fleischer saying Ron Paul was "funny" in the debate as if that was his main contribution.
Did I mention how revolting I find this man?...

Well here's another memo for the MSM & TPTB: you successfully co-opted & destroyed the Tea Party, but you will *NOT* co-opt or destroy US. NO ONE BUT PAUL!!
Why doesn't Welch simply endorse Paul?
ISO SailingAway (or another Mod), can we PLEASE delete all of the disgusting comments in this thread ASAP!
As for the idiots who don't see this as an epic WIN for Ron Paul, what the hell is wrong with some of you. Some of you need to seriously get a clue. This is a HUGE (I repeat, HUGE) deal.
Jack Welch (the man who saved GE and is regarded as one of the greatest CEOs of all time) and his wife (who was a former editor of the Harvard Business Review) just spent the day giving interviews with basically every major media station in America... and you what their message to the Republican Establishment was??
I'll give you a hint... it wasn't "Ron Paul should drop out" or "Ron Paul won't win"... that part of their story was cover. Their message was "BACK THE F*CK OFF Ron Paul"... or else we're shit out of luck as a party".
Honestly, how much clearer do old-establishment types like Jack and his wife need to be for some of you see understand what they're actually saying?
::sigh::
And lastly, their sons are in their 20s... hmmm... I wonder if they might sometimes visit RPF or the DailyPaul?
Ugh.
I'll watch the tube when it gets here, but who are the Welchs?
--
nvm... the GE folks with the intelligent kids. Brains that skip a generation, I guess.
Jack Welch is a F&*%$king A-Hole
Welch thinks he is making himself look so smart, trying to compare this situation to a board room. YET, he totally misses it with his analogy/comparison.
Dr. Paul is not an employee of the GOP. He isn't a board member. Dr. Paul is an outside contractor brought it by others with an interest in your ogranization. He owes no loyalty to the GOP as they don't pass his salary, they certainly don't fundraise or support his campaigns. He is the independent contractor brought in that is telling you how you are fucking your organization up and how to fix it. Welch's analogy falls flat.

Not at all. Jack's doing what's best for GE, which isn't necessarily what's good for the nation. And his kids are angling for an opportunity to make their own lives and their own fortunes--which, since they don't work for GE, involves creating an environment where an entrepreneur can create an enterprise.
Ron is doing a hostile takeover!
Their failure of analysis is common to virtually the entire self-proclaimed leadership of the country, and the media who sing their song; those who sit well above the fray and somehow manage to convince themselves that the distancing provides an accurate vantage point. They see the battle between the ways of the old and the new as just another replay of the battle played out every four years for the reins of power. They fail to grasp that the battle is not for control of a system that their opponents consider anathema to personal liberty, but for an opportunity to deconstruct much of the edifice that has been constructed to benefit the privileges of the few at the expense of the liberty of the many.
Jack and Suzy Welch are operating under several inaccurate assumptions. They assume that the movement is a cult of personality, ignoring Ron Paul's own statement that "I am an imperfect messenger but the message is perfect." They assume that Ron Paul owns the votes of those engaged in the movement, and that his endorsement of an establishment candidate would paper over the very real differences that exist between the status quo and a movement that intends to fundamentally transform society.
They assume that Ron Paul himself will take the politically expedient path of settling for unenforceable promises in exchange for setting aside a philosophy he has championed for forty years. They assume that the movement for personal liberty is a phase that a society that is increasingly free in every area except their relationship to their government will soon outgrow. And finally, they assume that the insurgents of today will not become the party regulars of the future.
In a profoundly parallel era, Jack and Suzy Welch would have been British Loyalists, convinced that their children's membership in the Sons of Liberty was a passing fad, soon to be outgrown. It is no more possible for the political establishment to "give" voice and dignity to Ron Paul and the liberty movement than it would have been for King George to impart already-existing voice and dignity to Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and the patriots. To the patriots of this century, there is no discernible difference between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. The political establishment has nothing to offer them, but to depart from the playing field more quietly than King George.
To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, the first Great Emancipator: "Government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations, shall soon perish from the Earth."
Can anyone saylol! this is exactly the sort of witty, funny and non-defensive comments I wish more of us were posting in response to this media blitz by the Welch's.
When the grassroots is feeling confident about Ron and his campaign, the majority of comments below negative/biased articles employ this sort of 'smart alicky' tone to great effect. But when the grassroots is feeling down or defensive... watch out! lol
The more certain/confident we are when defending/promoting Ron, the more successful we'll be at winning over the soft supporters of Romney, Grinch & Santorum.
