[Video] Ron Paul on Cavuto 7/13/12

Was Neil struggling to motivate Ron Paul to assert himself over the bad situation of not having enough delegates? After all in the intro and in the short pre-interview cut he said that Ron Paul was "still in the race" and "still making waves" and "not done yet." And Ron Paul was trying to finish positive with his "Audit the Fed" legislation.

So out of it as I see it. Why? Why is Ron Paul so marginalize that he kinds of discounts himself? I am baffled. I don't understand that kind of political leadership. I have never seen it before.

Even if Ron Paul is nominated from the floor, can the convention chair simply schedule his speech for 6:00 A.M. in the morning? When there's no live t.v. coverage and no one in the building except a few security guards and the janitorial crew? How do we know they won't screw with his microphone volume? Etc. Etc. Etc.

After the Bernanke breakfast RP took himself out of the race. He knows whats coming and that he will be a part of putting it all back together after the collapse of the dollar.

that would be so weird I think the entire globe would be there at 6 am with cameras and mics.

I like how Ron is saying that his supporters won't support Condi Rice, but only a person who wants a humble foreign policy. It makes it seem like the Ron Paul faction may have more say about the VP pick than people realize (not that I'd ever vote for Romney of course)

I have a similar feeling but it starts with the meeting Rand had after his indignant encounter with the TSA at the airport.

I note that at 3:30 Ron was starting to get going on how there is too much emphasis on a smooth convention and Ron would like to see a REAL convention since we are paying for it as taxpayers.

That goes to another thread.

Isn't Ron Paul also one that emphasizes smoothness on every issue and problem he speaks about? Smooth meet smooth.

Yes, he did, now where's that thread? :)

It's called humility. He certainly doesn't consider himself a political leader. He is a civil servant.

I was exaggerating to make a point. What I mean is they might relegate him to some choice of low ratings time (like 10:00 A.M. or something). Or other unknown forms of menacing.

I think sailing was working off of that to everyones favor :)

^I'm not sure I follow. After all that's happened, isn't anyone worried that they will try to screw with Ron's speech?

Yes, but we can't stop that, but we can have fun and push for the right thing with all of our might.
I was just commenting that I didn't think sailing was repremanding you, but rather that if they did do some crazy crap like a 6:00am thing they might find that to still be the hilight of the whole convention :)

edit: oh, and I'm worried, like you, but what can we do but our best?

Oh, we are certain they will screw with Ron's speech, as they have been doing by trying to trump up pretences to bar his delegates so he can't get nominated from the floor.

I personally have a hunch if Ron absolutely clearly and no question has 5 states, all unbound, and Romney runs out of arguments, they will claim it was all a mistake of communication and of course he intended Ron to speak after all... and try to talk it out of being a nomination speech. Perhaps with a longer slot of time. Failing that, I actually don't think he will play too much with time slot, because then he gets into the poor sportsmanship meme of slotting his competition disadvantageously. Right now they are desperately trying to pretend he HAS no competition.

Ron Paul said:
it is not a personal thing since I used to be accused all the time of Romney and I are to close to friends and all that kind of stuff and that was true.

Surprised no one caught this. Sounds like they got what they wanted from Ron and now Ron is miffed as to why they are not playing ball. After that sentence blaming the Romney campaign but not Mitt.

"No one caught this"... That came across as a brick through a window. It hit me right in the heart. But I acted as if I didn't hear that. Then one can really now understand why RP never committed to attacking Romney full fledged. He appreciates Romney but to the detriment of the movement and to the detriment of his own campaign. That is what one can take as "not wanting to win" and the MSM also noted that.

All we know is that Dr. Paul has a little place for Romney in his heart but we don't. And that makes all the difference.
