[Video] Ron Paul on Cavuto 7/13/12

Surprised no one caught this. Sounds like they got what they wanted from Ron and now Ron is miffed as to why they are not playing ball. After that sentence blaming the Romney campaign but not Mitt.

I don't remotely read that as Ron 'playing ball', I think it was that he took heat for not attacking Romney because personally they are friendly, and that is true, they are friendly, and it isn't a personal thing NOW that Ron is not dropping out and endorsing Romney, they are still friendly, but he thinks there should be a debate and convention and all the way up to the actual nomination.

I take it to mean Ron was saying the Romney camp isn't reluctant to let Ron speak at the convention due to any personal dislike/feud, because Mitt and Ron are personally on friendly terms, but because the Romney camp and Romney's handlers are very insecure about the possibility of a debate. They want the convention to go "smooth" (scripted) for the media.

It implies they know they have a weak candidate in Mitt, and although part of the RNC is open to having Ron, the Romney camp is very insecure about it. The RNC is going to go along with what the Romney camp wants, so ball is in Mitt's court.

That's not a good sign for Mitt, relative to his chances against Obama. There are a lot of neocons and Bush people circling Mitt's wagon, and they are very insecure about where the party is headed. They are floating the Condi trial balloon...and Ron seems to think the idea is just absurd, lol.

if Ron absolutely clearly and no question has 5 states,

Nevada. Nevada. Nevada. I want to know how this "five state rule" reads.

http://www.gop.com/images/legal/2008_RULES_Adopted.pdf.

UPDATE: Rule 40(b):

"Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a plurality of the delegates from each of five (5) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination."

So I suppose a point of contention might revolve around the definition of "shall demonstrate the support of." Mittens might argue that being bound officially "demonstrates the support of."

UPDATE #2:

Does the following mean the Mittens people can define it anyway they like?:

Rule 32:

"Suspension of Rules
A motion to suspend the rules shall always be
in order, but only when made by authority of a majority
of the delegates from any state and seconded by a
majority of the delegates from each of five (5) or more
other states severally."

I think each state delegation has the ability to meet in their designated floor area to vote on issues and delegates have the ability to introduce to their delegation motions for the chairwoman/chairman to present to the Convention floor. I think.

During preparations, spare time and breaks flyers containing valuable information should be able to disseminate across the floor.

The word "Replace" with pictures for Obamacare could be made a meme as a criticism for Romney's new position since he campaigned on repeal (mimicking Backman) and that's how he won his support. The Romney that would be asking for nomination is different from the Romney that campaigned in Ohio.

State delegations should be able to cancel their "bound commitment" to Romney based on the fact that Romney has proposed to "REPLACE" Obamacare.

.... a that is why Ron Paul would like discussions on the convention floor and that is why Romney doesn't.

Meme for Convention: Romney proposes REPLACING Obamacare - Delegates propose REPLACING Romney with Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is only asking a simple thing from the RNC, a lively debate on some issues.

Any change in policy positions since the candidate won his primary in each state is subject to review by the delegations. Because that would not be the same candidate who ran on the primary. My thoughts.

Two weeks ago during the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare Romney proposed to REPLACE Obamacare.

Each state delegation should have the right to review their "bound" commitment to Romney based on that change of policy since he campaigned on repeal. I suggest that state delegations, specially the Massachusetts delegation should have the right to REPLACE Romney with Ron Paul now that Romney is for replacing Obamacare.

Mr. Romney - you have been REPLACED.

Does Rule 40(b) allow our Nevada delegation to nominate Ron Paul from the floor?

I don't know squat about all that stuff but I'll comment anyway. I believe that a delegate in a delegation can introduce a motion to the chairman for the delegation to vote on. A motion to support a Ron Paul nomination can be voted on. If approved the chairman can inform Ron Paul that he has the support of that state. Once Ron Paul has the support of five states he can then inform the Convention chair to expect a floor nomination for his name.

What do you think? Complicated but doable?
