Rand interviewed on CNN, news anchor keeps talking over him

I just watched this video right now and I am really pissed off at the host.
http://www.cnn.com/video/standard.html?/video/politics/2011/07/31/nr.no.talking.points.cnn

I am also getting sick of going to cnn news pulse and seeing multiple articles blaming the tea party and the people for the debt crisis.
Like it is our friggin fault that they spent all the money funding all these programs...
I say blame the NEO-CONS for all this war spending and blame the DEMS for their wild spending spree of socialist programs.
As a libertarian I am getting very angry at all this, it is no ones fault but the people in office.

My mother, a life long DEM, is at the point now where even she is saying fire them all and replace them.
back in 08 when i tried to convert her, she was convinced that Obama was the new messiah or something and was going to fix everything.
After 3 years of Obama, her eyes are finally opening, that all these politicians are working for the same goal. To make us poor, and them rich.

The interviewer was acting like he knew Obama was probably watching. It was a blatant media hit on behalf of the administration.

If you pretend to not be a Rand supporter and watch it from the most unbiased way possible, it doesn't look like Rand did that great. The host led the discussion and tried to make Rand look bad. He tried to make him look like a typical politician who is out of touch with Americans. And I don't know if people who aren't fans of Rand would be able to look beyond that.

Yea I didn't see this at all. Rand was very well spoken, polite, and confident. As always.

What bothered me most was Lemon thinking he had more of a connection to the American people than Rand Paul. Let's look at the facts:

1) Until literally months ago Rand Paul was a doctor directly interacting and serving people in all walks of life for 20 years. Lemon is a city "reporter" enmeshed in politics and news spin since day one.

2) Rand Paul was officially elected by 56 percent of the vote to represent 4.3 million Americans. Don Lemon has a low rated TV show on the weekend which they probably were forced to watch in Dr. Paul's waiting room.

3) The people in CNN's own poll agree with Dr. Paul's support for Cut, Cap, and Balance by a 2 to 1 margin!

My only problem with Rand's performance is that he didn't bring up that last point. How can a hack like Don Lemon accuse Rand Paul of being out-of-touch when his network doesn't report the news that most Americans support Rand Paul's position.

From their own freakin' poll:

In the past week, you couldn't swing a debt cat without hitting a press report about how irresponsible the "Cut, Cap and Balance" bill passed by House Republicans is.

A new CNN/ORC poll released a few hours ago finds the media very much on the wrong side of public opinion concerning this issue:

23. In another proposal, Congress would raise the debt ceiling only if a balanced budget amendment were passed by both houses of Congress and substantial spending cuts and caps on future spending were approved. Would you favor or oppose this proposal? July 18-20 2011

Favor 66%
Oppose 33%
No opinion 1%

Wow! Almost two-thirds of respondents favor "Cut, Cap and Balance."

But that's not all:

25. Would you favor or oppose a constitutional amendment to require a balanced federal budget? July 18-20 2011

Favor 74%
Oppose 24%
No opinion 1%

Wow! Almost three quarters favor a balanced budget amendment.

Yet what do they report on and use as propaganda for their biased version of "compromise" from that very same poll?

CNN's deputy political director Paul Steinhauser emphasized that the poll results favored Democrats over Republicans. He insisted that "the headline here is Americans want compromise," and pointed out that 64 percent of respondents favored including both spending cuts and tax increases, "kind of like what the president is suggesting, what the Gang of Six is suggesting."

Then he reported that President Obama and the Democrats will receive less blame than congressional Republicans if no deal is reached by the deadline, August 2.

During its news coverage from the end of the 1 p.m. EDT hour into the 6 p.m. EDT hour, CNN mentioned at least three times that 62 percent of those polled favored raising the debt ceiling with or without debt reduction. At least twice, the network reported that 64 percent of those polled wanted a plan with both spending cuts and tax increases.

Ignoring their own polling to further a left-wing agenda. And low rated cable hacks like Don Lemon claim to be hearing the the American people rather than Rand Paul?

They can prove they're "hearing Americans" by listening to their own damn poll results of Americans!

They are the ones engaging in Talking Points. They are just angry at Rand Paul because he's knocking Lemon and CNN off theirs!

This is one of the most disrespectful interviews I have seen, he didn't even call him senator at the end. Both Ron & Rand should start black listing people who are disrespectful too them in interviews. It's one thing to have a difference of opinion quite another to be blatantly rude, they should tell the networks. Being interviewed by these types does not help them advance their goals

When you are handed lemons ... make lemonade.

Rand could have done better.
And you can do better as well. What you watched in the CNN interview is a hit job on a Senator who just finished a heated debate in front of a national audience in the United States Senate. If you think Rand's job is an easy job ... to stand up against the power elite with courage, then you should try it. Save criticism until you have walked a mile in his shoes.

When you separate the wheat from the chaff what you end up with is pure grain.

As you watch interviewers work their audiences -- when they interrupt their guest then you can be sure that they are promoting their agenda, and they are not interested in what the guest has to say. They are doing everything they can to discredit the guest. That is the purpose of interruption... it is rude... very rude. Read the words.

Compare:

Introduction,
And joining us now is - Rand Paul who is one of the Republican Senators REFUSING the plan proposed by House Speaker John Boehner. Welcome ... great to have you here...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YVyn_ZZjglg

And now CNN's introduction,
CNN's Lemon:
And this just happened ... just moments ago on the Senate floor...
Senator Rand Paul:
The pundits say that compromise is the... the mark of an enlightened person. We're trying to compromise. I just offered to pass the leader's bill. I've offered to work with them. I'm from the Tea Party ... they say we won't compromise. I'm willing to raise the debt ceiling...
CNN's Lemon:
Alright that was FRESHMAN Rand Paul immediately after he failed to get unanimous consent to tack on a balanced budget amendment to the Reid bill. He says he would have voted to raise the debt ceiling if HIS amendment, if that amendment was included.

Paul is a Tea Party favorite ... as we know ... and he has rejected NOT just Harry Reid's plan in the Senate BUT ALSO Speaker Boehner's plan from the House.

And there you see him ... right there ... he's joining us now from the Senate office building. Thank you so much, I know you are very busy ... you guys have a lot going on. At this point though, and can an and can we ... can we do this ... let's do this interview without talking points ... okay let's just talk to each other.

Both Democrats and Republicans are pointing fingers at YOU. So I guess maybe the best question to start with is, "What will make YOU and the Tea Party happy, at this point?"

CNN's Lemon: okay let's just talk to each other.
He didn't mean what he said ... he kept rudely interrupting the distinguished gentleman from Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.

CNN is simply Washington DC garbage. Don Lemon's asinine interruptions prove that he is not interested in what Rand Paul had to say. The Lemon Law should apply in the interview with CNN's Lemon.

I like when the host interrupts Rand again and tells him to "please be respectful here". LMAO.

The only talking points I heard in the interview came from Don Lemon. I wonder who he went over those questions with?

This is the reason why interns shouldn't be anchors. I mean, the mainstream media is blatant propaganda... we know this.

But this arrogant POS was in your face. I mean lets just pretend for a second that you're doing an interview rather than making a commentary.
Interns?????? He is a well known host. O_o

He is also well known for not going along with CNN's bs. And here he was trying to make Rand look like he had his own bs.

Man! That Fool Lemon Made me so MAD!!! Rand did great!! Just keeping his cool!!
I emailed CNN gave them a piece of my mind!! Auto email return!!! LOL!!!
I said i know Lemon is from CHI-Town, was a TV guy there and ( big lap dog 4 ObamO}. So its understandable that he knows nothing about keeping a budget for government. Illinois is BROKE because of these FOOLS!!! Peace. netnut ;-))

CNN's Don Lemon is a sour one for sure. I watched the interview again this morning and it looked like CNN's Lemon was reading Obama's teleprompter for questions.

What a little pecker from CNN. Excuse my language, but that little shit really pissed me off.

He's a little beeetch. "Don't be beetch" - FPSRussia

It was an attack interview, no doubt about that. Which would just mean that he gets crossed off the list of legitimate interviewers. No one from the Tea Party should ever do an interview with him again.

It seems like mainstream Republicans tend to love anyone who comes under fire from the left-wing talking head propaganda bots. Makes me wish Ron's interviews with these bozos were more contentious.

Beck also played a bunch of the interview on his show this morning, tearing apart lemon
Hannity played a portion of it too during the second hour of his radio show just before interviewing Rand.
