[VIDEO] New Commercial - "BIG DOG" - for ESPN + Other Sports Stations

If you don't like this, chances are great that you're not the intended audience. Remember, Paul has your vote already, he doesn't need to impress you. This will grab the gun-owning, redneck, republican...i.e. my neighbors.

Thinking about the ad. What other campaign has an ad with numerous departments disappearing, dogs barking, a bathtub draining, and a semi truck with Ron Paul 2012 on the side! This is how we roll!

It is appealing to the people that the campaign are targeting. They test this stuff. You have voiced your opposition to it already. If you continue, people will think (rightly so) that you are a concern troll.

thats the important point. This stuff is tested and the campaign is certainly not going to go into anything blindly. IIRC males tend to favor big cuts according to demographic breakdowns.

From the art style and the voice over, seems like the campaign hired the RevPAC's ad maker for this one.

I think you mean the Ford dude?

If you pay close attention it reminds you of the Ford Truck ads. If a company like Ford has done the market research on this type of advertising and finds it successful I think its fine. Lets not forget most Americans are idiots. It seems to be targeting men however (just like Ford Trucks)./

Personally, I would have done it a little different. Same Style but I would have left out the shiatsu part and just said "are you tired of politicians being all bark and no bite when it comes to spending cuts. Ron Paul will take a huge bite out of spending, 1 Trillion year 1." I was fine with the rest of it that part was just dumb.

yeah, i believe this is the ad that will be in the 120K ad buy targetting sports stations.

In 30 seconds, this ad is able to grab your attention, not an easy thing to do. I like it.

Honestly, some of you need to lighten up! You think anyone over 50 is incontinent, feeble minded, and stuck in some Brady Bunch time-warp.

lol

This ad is awful. It will scare the crap out of people that don't understand eliminating departments. Run the serial hypocrisy ad.

men tend to prefer cuts.

I like it, but the voters we need to convert will not. I hope this thing never airs on TV. Every other ad we have is 100 times better. How can we make sure the campaign doesn't air this.

it's being broadcast on espn and a couple other sports stations. They made two different ad buys and the one with this ad targets men heavily.

This is awesome...cause it speaks to the Sports crowd. Reminds me of the Brawndo Ad from Idiocracy....

LOL.....Pretty sad this is what it takes to reach alot of sports fans....but it's good to get some of those "Beef Supreme" fans in our court. :D

Who plays the bureaucrat on the paper? Is that a real bureaucrat, or one of the video editors sneaking himself into the video? LOL!

I actually like the ad too.

+1.

if crap keeps getting worse and worse, this demographic may end up hitting the primary voting booths in larger numbers than usual. especially the ones who've been out of work for a while or are underemployed or in fear of losing their jobs.

What a great ad! People complain (especially hardcore RP supporters) that Ron Paul is all facts and tends to lose people with the truth nukes he drops. This is fun, laid back, and really gives his campaign a youthful quality. Perfect!

Here in Texas, Ford has made a ton of these style ads with Dennis Leary and they've gone over like gangbusters. I feel this will work well for the target demographic.

LOL the people here are not your AVERAGE voter. This appeals to the AVERAGE republican much more than any other ad I have seen. This is wonderful!

I think it's a good ad. Sorry politicians at the beginning is an attention grabber. Much better than the plain vanilla Gingrich ad. It's perfect for that certain 'type' of republican that we are not getting (authoritarian war hawk types). Will do nothing to attract most dems though.

I seriously don't get you guys sometimes. Any minor flub by Paul and you do a back-flip. An ad for sports fanatics, you get all pouty. This campaign is doing so much right, there's almost no room for us to criticize.

The ad is certainly catered to a specific audience but I believe it really excels in serving that audience; in absolute win IMO. I can see how people can freak out though...ZOMG no maor DoE, we're gonna getz dumb! ZOMG no maor DoE we're gonna run out of energies! I don't think the intended audience would think like this though.

^^^ this! i can so see some of my macho male friends digging this ad! i thought it was awesome! great job to the campaign!!

And don't they freaking LOVE trucks in Iowa? This ad has awesome written all over it.

Great ad.

I like it for a couple of reasons.

1. Its format is not like the traditional political ad. In fact, its really a knock-off on very popular ads for the F-150. I think it is a subtle way to make a key point: this is not your run-of-the-mill politician.

2. This is targeting Herman Cain supporters as much as anything else. Herman talked tough, that was a major part of his style, this ad clearly is targeting that psychographic group. Also, before they were Herman Cain supporters many were Rick Perry. "I don't know how you'd treat Ben Bernanke here in Iowa, but in Texas.." Same tough talk style.

Its an image ad. Voters will like the image of the man this ad portrays. Its a good ad.

I'll tell you this much... I've never seen a political ad like this before. That at least counts for something.

hey dude did you see that cool commercial ... awesome dude ... who's is that guy ? ... Ron Paul it said ... cool dude ... gotta vote for that guy ... like drain the swamp man ha ha ... what's the score man ?
