[VIDEO] New Commercial - "BIG DOG" - for ESPN + Other Sports Stations

If you pay close attention it reminds you of the Ford Truck ads. If a company like Ford has done the market research on this type of advertising and finds it successful I think its fine. Lets not forget most Americans are idiots. It seems to be targeting men however (just like Ford Trucks)./

Personally, I would have done it a little different. Same Style but I would have left out the shiatsu part and just said "are you tired of politicians being all bark and no bite when it comes to spending cuts. Ron Paul will take a huge bite out of spending, 1 Trillion year 1." I was fine with the rest of it that part was just dumb.

In 30 seconds, this ad is able to grab your attention, not an easy thing to do. I like it.

Honestly, some of you need to lighten up! You think anyone over 50 is incontinent, feeble minded, and stuck in some Brady Bunch time-warp.

This is clearly targeting a strong demographic for Paul, 25-40 Year Old Men. I like it. Think of your average Nascar fan.. then think about them watching this. :) This also helps target some of the meme of Ron Paul being old. It gives him a fresh, younger vibe.

This ad is awful. It will scare the crap out of people that don't understand eliminating departments. Run the serial hypocrisy ad.

I love that!

Isn't it funny how we are all supporting the candidate that understands individuality the most, and yet we keep seeing collectivist-type postings here? It's like it's been brainwashed into us to segment people into groups for our easier understanding.

"An old person couldn't possibly be an individual - they're old. They care about Medicare and Social Security."

I like it, but the voters we need to convert will not. I hope this thing never airs on TV. Every other ad we have is 100 times better. How can we make sure the campaign doesn't air this.

We are targeting conservatives. They want the departments gone. This is a Republican primary.

I think saying it is awful is a bit much, don't you think? This is a well produced ad targeting a very specific demographic. You have to look past your own personal preferences or you are going to get lost in these approaches.

When they start releasing ads targeting senior citizens.. you're going to have others outcrying how awful those are too. Sigh...

If we assume that it will be shown on guy channels, and if we assume we need MORE 18-35 year old males (we already have a lot) than this is a great ad. But I would be comforted if they were going after seniors as well with ads like this:

First I was like, "what?"

But now that I know it's playing on the sports networks, I get it.

lol

Bubba likes it.

I think it's fabulous for the market they are targeting with it. Brilliant even.

I love it. He's going after 100% of his demographic... guys like... us. :D All about preaching to the choir in IA and getting them to turn out in caucus. This isn't a primary election vs obama where cheesy ads are needed for seniors. These are for motivating and rallying the troops :D :D :D

what about seniors?

Best ad ever! Quit your whining and watch it again so it'll put some hair on your chest!

A good 75% of caucus goers in Iowa label themselves "conservative" so this ad will likely be well recieved. Especially those under 45.

That was my concern too, but it is only for certain networks, so I feel better about it.
