Vapers of the Forums, unite! :D

I'm currently using a HorizonTech Arctic tank, with a 0.2 ohm Bottom Turbine Coil. It's great...it produces way more vape at lower temps than the half ohm coil, but I'm running through e-juice like sweet tea lol even setting my boxmod down to a lowly 10 watts. :(

Edited to correct: ...with a 0.2 ohm Bottom Turbine DUAL Coil.

Ya I build, I've been digging Clapton wire.

My builds tend to look pretty similar to this:

This is my first time with a 0.22 ohm double coil, and I've turned the battery all the way down to 7 watts (1.24v) and I'm still getting all the vape I want. LOL this is nuts!

Yeah, I get all the vapor I ever wanted at around 40W. How are these people going 150W and above and not dying?

Ya I made a few sets of nice claptons wasn't too impressed. My steady is/was DNA 200 box mod, velocity RDA, 0.7 - 0.9 ohm dual nickel coils, at 70 - 90 watts, floatin from 490 - 550 F.

I say was cause I am not using it anymore. If I go somewhere with a party envronment, then I'll take it so I won't be tempted to mooch a smoke after havin a few drinkey poo's.

still vaping.. still using my cig-a-likes (ok.. cigar-a-likes) auto batteries from smokeless image.. love the rainbow batteries. Most of my juice still comes from mt baker - except for some flavors that they've discontinued (cafe coffee) and I have no desire to mix my own juice. I do love my iclear 16 dual bottom coil clearos .. gonna have to find an adapter for them now that SI doesn't have them anymore and I have a proprietary thread issue...

Have you tried a nice Temp control with nickel yet?

IMO with a good temp control device something simple like this coil in a 28 gauge, w/3 mm id, nickel set with combined resistance around 0.7 - 0.1 beats out any Clapton on flavor quality IMO.

Plus you will barely ever notice hints of dry hit unless you get crazy with it (600 F at 150 watts lol). You might not win a tough cloud comp but I was still blowin clouds the size of mini-vans

1 mg nic is too much on these 0.22 ohm coils. :p

Try some nickel with temp control its a little hard to make 28 gauge nickel coils cause it is soft but not hard once you get it.

The hard parts are not letting the coils touch to help with that i used a litttle extra cotton and threaded it through the coilso the cotton would space it out. Also you have to be carefull to securely tighten your rda screws with out snapping the wire, to help with that once i felt resistance on the screw, grab the tail and move it around alot if you coil doesnt flinch its good continue moving the tail till it snaps off then give the screw just a hair more. Then vape off the full first rda full without the cap to ensure it is stable, and never ever dry burn a nickel or titanium coil.

I tried about everything to be tried and this beats it all, unless your only goal is the biggest cloud ever, but like I said I was blowing clouds the size of mini-vans with 3mg and the flavor was sublime.

Thanks Specs.. I have not made the jump from the cigar-a-likes but have heard lots of good things on provaris.

Might anyone in this thread be using Iclear 16's? My current device company has stopped carrying them in their own proprietary threading but I think the replacement coils for them might be interchangeable.

dis shit so good. been off regular cigarettes for 4-5 weeks and (not including the machine) I've only gone through $20 worth of product. I was smoking a pack+ a day @ $7 a pack. I'm using the Subox Mini and I have no complaints. Wish I would've switched years ago.

Thanks Specs. Those are fantastic deals. I might get another one. Provaris are built like a tank. I highly recommend them.

Today, Tuesday, May 10th, 2016, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is officially publishing its final tobacco deeming regulations in the federal register. This means the clock begins counting down on the various compliance periods within which e-cigarette manufacturers and retailers must implement certain practices.

CASAA has been receiving a high volume of calls and emails from consumers and small businesses regarding how the FDA Deeming regulations will affect them. Fortunately, the FDA has set up a hotline to answer your questions.

Please take a moment today

To reach out to FDA at:

1.877.287.1373

(Operators are standing by to assist you with your FDA Deeming clarification needs.)

Some of the questions that CASAA has received that might be more appropriately answered by FDA include:

Will I still be able to DIY at home or do I need to register as a tobacco manufacturer?

I have an e-liquid line coming out next week. Will I be able to sell it?

Will kanthal wire and cotton balls now be considered tobacco products?

Will I have to pay to sample e-liquid even it it’s zero nicotine?

Can I sell my device to a friend even if I’m not a shop owner?

Can I give my old equipment to a friend who wants to stop smoking?

Is my device a tobacco product even though I use it with zero nicotine?

If I buy vegetable glycerine from a vape store, is it a tobacco product? If yes, what about if I buy it at a Walmart?

And so on…

If you have ANY question, the responsible thing to do is ASK THE FDA! Even if you know an expert vaper, you should call the FDA to confirm their analysis of the deeming regulation.

Interesting panel presentation at AEI being broadcast by C-SPAN1 right now. A presenter from REASON right now. All pro e-cig thus far.

E-cigs are helpful. Cigarette smoking has gone down significantly. Kids not more likely to start smoking cigs because of e-cigs.

Deeming regs are ridiculous and suck.

Food & Drug Law Attorney talking now. Just mentioned that it was in the deeming regs that all flavored e-cig fluid would have to be removed by August 8th, until they got approval from FDA. She said White House struck that, or so they have been told. Still talking about what the FDA could and should have done with e-cigs, but did not....

Lawsuits...

Deeming rules even include e-liquids not including nicotine, if it's expected to be used with e-cigs. FDA will regulate this too.

Strong support in Congress for a change to this. Cole Amendment passed 31-19?

Noticed on CASAA website:
Petition Your Legislator NOW to Support HR 2058!
The FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015 (HR 2058), introduced by Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma, would save the U.S. vapor industry from being decimated by improper regulations by the FDA. This bill would amend the Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act to change the predicate date for “deemed tobacco products.” This change would allow for all vapor products currently on the market to remain on the market without being subject to the burdensome (read: prohibitive) pre-market FDA approval application process.

Currently, there are two pieces of legislation in Congress that would effectively change the predicate date for products deemed to be tobacco by the FDA.

Both HR 2058 and the Cole-Bishop amendment are vehicles for language that would change the predicate date in the Tobacco Control Act (TCA) from February 15th, 2007 to the effective date of the deeming regulations (August 8th, 2016). This change would allow for all vapor products

NOTE: ALL VAPERS WHO CARE ABOUT SAVING VAPING, SHOULD JOIN THIS AND HELP THEM. http://casaa.org/

Congress... moderate support for the date to be changed. Which means everyone should contact their Congress critters. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

S450 S1129 introduced. Dem introduced. High federal taxes on e-cigs. Not much support, but now that deeming regs are here, might start getting recognition.

CASAA are the guys fighting the government and will give you action items.

-----------

Now talking about how the deeming regs will effectively shut down all future development in e-cigs because of the stringent requirements before even introducing. Crazy stuff.

Will squelch innovation and making product better, safer.
